Hadn't seen this posted, but thought this was pretty cool. How much would it cost to put something like this in Hilton??

Would be amazing. You can never stop improving the atmosphere.

That being said, Hilton won't get dark enough.

Huh?

I remember when they turned the lights off for introductions .... it was plenty dark.

That was sick, and probably not that hard to do, either. Would just take some quality overhead projectors hung from the ceiling pointed at the floor and then you just template what's existing on the floor into your video. If ISU wanted to do it I'm sure they easily could.

It has been discussed before that if you turn the lights off it would take too long for them to turn back on. That's why we don't do it for introductions.

I have only been going to games since 09 though.

You would think in this day & age we could use lights that don't have this problem?

Don't get me wrong, I love the Hilton environment as much as(if not more than) the next fanatic, but an intro like the one in this video would be badass!

I have been on your side of this discussion multiple times. I wish I could dig the threads up.

We could. Would you care to put up the money to replace the fixtures and control system?

Seriously, Hilton's lighting system is over 40 years old. It should be replaced however there is new LED technology out there and it would be wise to sit for a couple of years because the costs will come down when it isn't quite so bleeding edge. Frankly, I don't think the AD has lighting in Hilton as a terribly high priority.

My argument for this is always that "lighting" might not be a high priority, but atmosphere and entertainment are.

You know how we have a tough time getting students to fill the building sometimes? I guaranteed having a state of the art projection system like that for the intro would improve that.

I just think if UNI can do it, we should be able to do it. And we haven't spent money on Hilton since the new videoboard right? I'm sure it is due for some improvements, especially since we are now selling out and fielding very good teams.
