I'm struggling to see images of Fred Hoiberg in that article
So what is the point you are trying to make here? That Bill Self is a bad coach? Any dope can hop on wikipedia and check records and results for tourneys. We don't need it reprinted for us. What is the point of your endless babbling about this?
Fred hasn't been able to have a good enough season yet that beating them in the tourney is considered a great upset. Kinda part of the point...I'm struggling to see images of Fred Hoiberg in that article
So to compare Self to Fred you are comparing Self to other KU coaches. Interesting tactic. I notice you have conveniently left out the fact that he's also had more SUCCESS than any KU coach in 35+ years...I'm saying if you are comparing Fred Hoiberg and Bill Self you can't just point to Self going to more Elite 8s or Sweet 16s or whatever. Kansas is not the same as ISU and when making comparisons you have to account for the differences. Bill Self has had more bad losses in the tourney than any other ku coach in 35+ years. That's something to consider when evaluating him. It doesn't make him a terrible coach it just puts his tenure at Kansas in context. And if you would've actually read my posts I wouldn't have had to repeat myself.

Hey, I didn't write the article.Lose as a 2 seed in the first round, great upset...but lose as a 3 seed in the first round, that would not be a great upset. Got it
I don't think you really follow the Tournament. Roy Williams got to four Final Fours at Kansas but he was also upset in the 2nd Round three times over an 9 year period. Once as a 2 seed and twice as a 1 seed.

http://www.thesportsfanjournal.com/...ate-the-greatest-upset-in-tournament-history/ 11 years after the fact and still called the greatest upset in tournament history.
Roy Williams never choked in the ncaa tourney when he was at KU? That's all he did. When you're consistetntly a top seed, you're a lot more likely to lose to higher seeds.I agree totally the thing is that at Kansas it almost never happened until Bill Self got there. There's a decent sample size to compare to and going from 2 or 3 in 30 years to 5 in 11 years is a big jump.
I drew the line at the 8/9 seeds so it depends on where you draw that line. He lost to a 7, 8, and 9 in his 15 or 16 years. Roy never lost to a 10 seed or worse
I don't see any national title banners hanging in the rafters from ol' Roy's days at KU.He certainly has had a lot of success I've conceded that. Is he considered better in the post season than Roy? Their top end performance looks similar to me.
That is some very compelling evidence you've come up with. You're reaching.
Roy Williams not winning a national title with the talent he had on the '97, '02 and '03 teams will always go down as one of the most unacceptable things I have experienced as a KU fan. They had no business losing to anyone in '97. Their only loss prior to the tourney was with their PG out with a broken wrist and even that was only @Mizzou by 2 points in double OT. Ridiculous. The only person that could stop Paul Pierce in college basketball? ROY WILLIAMS.Roy Williams never choked in the ncaa tourney when he was at KU? That's all he did. A momentary break from this ridiculousness to report on the topic of the thread. Conner Frankamp's brother stated yesterday that Conner has a meeting with Gregg Marshall next week and is down to Wichita State, Creighton and Colorado. Hope end ends up at Creighton so I can see him play from time to time...
