While this thread is somewhat derailed, Ive always been curious about Georges nationality. I mean, he looks mostly white with a hint of some other race mixed in. Anyone know?

Not for sure but I think his parents were shown on TV once and he had a light skinned black dad/white mom combo.

After all the books I've read about this idea in American/European history, this is really a setup for a disturbing derailing.

We'd be better off listing reasons to hate Kansas.

You can't blame a guy for wanting to transfer from the 2nd best team in Kansas to the best team.

Way up there
One thing to keep in mind is that if you go to KU, you had better be in the "1 & done" category, or you will probably never start.

All things being equal between a guy like Frankamp and a top 10-20 player that is slotted to be 1 & done, the 1 & done will be showcased and get the lion's share of the minutes.

That helps KU recruit 1 & done's, but it should also hurt a little in the guys they recruit that aren't expecting to be 1-2 year college players.

Not a problem if you're Diallo or Monk, but if I'm Mitchell Ballock, I'm taking this into account.

Lol...I get we all hate KU but they are 1 year removed from a starting lineup composed of multiple 5th year guys. Releford, Whithey and Elijah Johnson were all guys who finished out their eligibility. Prior to that year they lost Taylor, Teahen and Robinson, all guys who were far from 1 and done guys. The funny thing is, all of Self's good teams were built of veteran guys.

Custer is basically a poor man's Frankamp. ISU doesn't need two of the same guy sitting on the bench.

If any statement in this thread is racist, it's this one.

twocoach compares Frankamp to Custer only because the two are white.... because if he knew anything at all he'd know that their games are not that similar.

If anything, Frankamp would compare to Naz Long or Matt Thomas.... 2 guards that can shoot, but not a whole lot else.

Custer is a PG. And he is very quick with the ball. So IMO, it's also a racist statement to say that Custer is slow as well... he's not. He's gone up against some of the best high school talent in the country and he gets pretty much wherever he wants to off the dribble.

Not at a level that would get PT if we had multiple Georges like KU. I know it is tough to believe, but KU is much deeper and recruits at a higher level. I bet you were really excited over Tharpe leaving.

I wouldn't say excited, but it was a good thing. I wouldn't say I'm "excited" for this guy leaving either.

But it's beneficial and weakens this team. Not a ton, but slightly.

Also, while KU is much deeper and recruits at a higher level, Frankamp is just a Sophomore. It's not like he's a senior who's earned a shot at a starting job.

If he were to start in an exhibition game, it clearly means Self thinks he'll be putting in SOME valuable time.

None of that makes a difference to the point, because if they are super super talented and he was starting the exhibition that makes him look that much better. Booker's talent vs Frankamps is irrelevant. If he was going to start their first exhibition, he would have been a contributor at the very least for KU.
