Computer help: Sound

Okay I was messing around on my laptop. My external speakers weren't working. So I was messing with my sound stuff. Only half paying attention, talking to friends. Now my actual laptop speakers won't project any sound. Before you ask, No I did not hit the mute button on my computer or anything. I am worried I deleted something I need for my sound. a driver or something. I run Vista.
