@Gunnerclone, STAGE 4I'll get excited when he gets on campus. Looks promising but this isn't my first rodeo. Little risk so I'm 100% on board.

@Gunnerclone, STAGE 5Boner alert!
I am reasonably sure that a composite #20 would qualify as “highest ever”.@LLCoolJansma

@CyTwins
So if Leech was going to end up around 20th prior to the injury...
...does that mean he would have eclipsed Brackins, THT, Thomas, and Wigginton?
And when Wiggs decides to stay all 4 years....woooweee.@LLCoolJansma

Obviously this does not really matter much, but I wonder how far up our upside play is here.
A lineup of something like...
Nixon
Horton-Tucker
Leech
Jacobson
Lard
...the year after next already sounds nice.
The 2019 Draft doesn't have a lot of good freshmen so Wigginton's best chance to go first round is probably after next year. I'd say he's gone. If THT has a great year he may be gone too. If those two leave early we probably had a really good year, which is what everyone wants. If we want to be a shade under blue blood elite we are going to have to start accepting one-(or two)-and-done's as a possibility.And when Wiggs decides to stay all 4 years....woooweee.

If he's anything like Peter Jok was his last two years we got a steal.Reminds me of Peter Jok somewhat. Highly ranked before knee issues.

Minus the moped incidents
I appreciate the effort you put in. I spent some time looking for archived rankings from back then. All that I could find (aside from the above) was that he was a third team Parade All American—which, at ten men per team, would have put him somewhere in the twenties.I'll use 247 to compare
MARCEDUS LEECH
Current: https://247sports.com/Player/Marcedus-Leech-93052
2106 rank Found this quote for him from his WSU offer "Marcedus comes in highly ranked by all of the recruiting services; Rivals #20, ESPN #20, Scout #21 and 247 Sports #26"
For this experiment Composite of #21.75.
Fizer (Pre Rankins) from Wiki "Fizer became the first (and only as of 2017-18) McDonald's All-American to play for the Cyclones" McD's rosters are 12X2. For this experiment we can assume Marcus was one of the top 24 players in the nation.
You know what they say about mopeds...
SIAP
Travis Hines makes a good point in this column about Leech's signing: he says that at a place like ISU, you need to take chances on high-risk / high-reward types of guys such as Lard and Leech. Link to his column:
