So was Talley, who started for senior day FWIW. Don't think it had to do with a curfew. I know the football team has one in season, but I've never heard of one for the basketball team.I was told that Lard was up past curfew at a bar.

Talley is of drinking age. Lard probably shouldn't have been in the bar.So was Talley, who started for senior day FWIW. Don't think it had to do with a curfew. I know the football team has one in season, but I've never heard of one for the basketball team.

I have no problem with that. I just know Talley was there too, and he started the game. So i don't think Lard was being punished for being at the bar. Guessing Prohm was playing Conditt over him based on practice results and the energy he has been bringing. The basketball team has had a rule about bars on the nights before games even when Fred was here. Monte got ticketed for being a minor in a bar the night before the osu home game where naz hit the half court shot to send it to over time. Monte didn’t start that game.
Fact is if an athlete is at the bar the night before a game they should be in trouble.
Great points. By bringing this up, you are not picking on him - actually quite the contrary. As you mentioned, you showed that GC was upset with himself & that he is disappointed that it provided extra momentum to TTU. For as much as the end of the regular season "sucked," I am excited for future with Tyrese & George and believe that they are a solid foundation for when the seniors leave and Wiggs, THT & Lard (whenever they or others) decide their time in an ISU uniform is over.
I'm more concerned about Nick and Marial playing 3 games in 3 days than the freshmen.
I think "turning a corner" for this team has to do with roster, not with attitude.
Specifically, I think this team needs:
1. A rim protector who has back-to-the backet offensive skills, who gives you production on both ends. And who is not suspended 40% of the time.
2. A 'pure' shooter from the 2 or 3 position who is more than just a volume shooter in Prohm's so-called "4 guard" system. In fairness to Prohm, I think he believed Lewis would be that specific guy, but for whatever other weaknesses, hasn't filled it.
If the team this year somehow compensates over its own weaknesses (every team has some) and gets past the first weekend in NCAA, fine, but again, I think there is only so far this team can go in future B12 and March(s) without addressing this stuff.
Exactly.Lewis is pretty decent at covering his man, but he gets lost repeatedly in the switches. Otherwise, I'm convinced that he would be playing more, as his offense and even rebounding has been good.
A player that has played very little will have those. And Lewis is hardly alone in losing his man. Imo for Lewis it is rooted in a lack of PT. In the non-conference he was playing as well defensively in between those lapses as any of our perimeter players.Lewis is pretty decent at covering his man, but he gets lost repeatedly in the switches.
