Are you a Gen Xer? If so, we know how to live dangerous yet still make the choices to live.
The fact that I'm still alive is a testament to there being a higher power. There's no way I survive all of my dangerous choices without someone watching out for me. How many of us had a version of this conversation? "Let's have Johnny drive us home. He's our safest drunk driver."

There is no such thing as cold--merely an absence of heat.

Cold is a lie.
I thought you were a nerdy lawyer, not a nerdy engineer. (this is coming from a nerdy accountant)

For arguments sake, let's apply this logic to other situations.

There is no such thing as hunger, just an absence of food.
There is no such thing as sober, just an absence of booze.
There is no such thing as marriage, just an absence of sex.
There is no such thing as Iowa men's basketball, just an absence of fans.

Sun was shining here without any wind. Yesterday was 5 degrees and melting the snow.

That's the way it was yesterday in the afternoon except at 7 a.m. it didn't matter. Today just has a bit more of a bite.

It's March soon. Instead of this bitter cold, we can look forward to bitter wind, mud and sleet.

Extended forecasts are pointing to this being winter's last gasp. More 40's in the 45 day than 20's, and no days in the single digits for highs after today.

Get that lawn mower tuned up, we will be needing to mow in April this year.

Felt colder this morning then yesterday. May be a difference in moisture in the air or something.
Are wearing different clothing?

I'm seeing (via my work sources) projections for below-average temps through March and April for central IA
