"Well, they wanted to give me way more money, so I went there."
He likes that his kids are growing up in Ames. Or better said his wife likes it.
Sounds like a lot of credit for CMC being in Ames goes to Mrs. Campbell.
Ames is a great town to raise a family in, the key is to do like CMC and many others do and live in the Gilbert school district part of North Ames. Send your kids to a top 3 elementary in the state, small town atmosphere, but growing and is less than a 10 minute drive.
He has told that story before, but its a good reminder to us all. Be who you are, and for someone you are the exact right fit.

Reminds me of another coach who once said he's firmly entrenched at ISU. I remember thinking at the time that if you have to say it out loud, then you probably aren't. That's why you don't hear Matt saying it.

Two things can be true at once. You don't think he's had the opportunity the past 2-3 years to go make a lot more money somewhere else?
Did I catch that he called ISU a "good place to end" in there?
He actually went waaaay over his time answering all kinds of questions. Most of the questions were good ones, IMO.
