When I pull up to Sukup:Look at these elitist cool kids partying with Campbell.
Erica as well as Jamie PollardSounds like a lot of credit for CMC being in Ames goes to Mrs. Campbell.
Erica, what a saint. I've heard she can whistle under water too.Erica as well as Jamie Pollard
Finding out he was a softball coach was good. I was like, dude is incapable of just relaxing. He actually went waaaay over his time answering all kinds of questions. Most of the questions were good ones, IMO.
You did but he didn't mean it like that. He meant it as ending his speech like he started it by saying Ames is a great placeDid I catch that he called ISU a "good place to end" in there?
Me too. There was a guy at our table that it took me a bit to place...I was at a table the complete opposite side that Nate Carr was.
I was trying to figure out who the guy with the Raiders hat was. He looked in shape/maybe former player.Me too. There was a guy at our table that it took me a bit to place...
Tom Coates...the guy that has the consumer credit business and has used his dad, kids, and grandkids (who ALL look like him) in his commercials.
Always gotta sell to the wife.IIRC when Pollard asked to see Campbell one of the things that was different is that he asked for Matt's wife to come and be apart of their meeting.
That was something completely different and how often to do you hear of a spouse being asked to join in any kind of meetings, especially initial meetings? We are fortunate to have Pollard as AD. Sure he has had some misses on coaches but what AD hasn't? Also think of the massive amount of facility updates, refreshes or completely new buildings all done the last 17 years under his watch. It's been transformative. Like he's said before, facilities first and then the right coach to take programs further. Far more likely to keep a coach or program at a higher level when facilities are already in place vs trying to build them after initial success.
Always gotta sell to the wife.
But, if he is to move on/up there will be compromises. His dream jobs may no longer be available. He has told that story before, but its a good reminder to us all. Be who you are, and for someone you are the exact right fit.
Honestly, I had to look Rick Roll up!! LOLI recorded CMC tell his Toledo to ISU story today at an event. Click the link and hit play, I promise it's no Rick Roll.
