The Cyclones are making their annual trip to Sin City this weekend. As usual, this is basically a mini NCAA tournament and there is likely going to be at least one wrestler who doesn't reach the top 8 at this tournament but ends up as an AA in March. Cyclones.com doesn't have an article but Here's the release. Its worth noting that ISU isn't attending Midlands or the Southern Scuffle, so results this weekend are going to weigh heavily on where individual cyclones are ranked for the rest of the season.

When: Friday Dec 1st & Saturday, Dec 2nd, Starting at 10AM both days

Where: Las Vegas, Nevada

Brackets/Live Stats: FloArena (free)

Video: FloWrestling (subscription required)

Here's a list of all the ranked wrestlers competing

Preseeds

ISU has preseeded wrestlers at 133 (Parker, 11), 141 (Storr, 9), and 149 (Degen, 12)

Glad to see DiBlasi up at 165 again, even though he hasn't gotten on track yet, I think he's our best option there going forward. Anyone know why Marmalejo's out?

He was listed in the release but is not on the registration list. They must have changed their minds.

No brackets yet. Weigh ins are in a couple of hours so it would be nice if they came out soon.

So I guess we have no one at 165 today!?

Pestano with a tough draw. #8 ranked Ellingwood from CMU in the round of 64 (his first match).

Colbray gets either Dixon from OU (Colbray beat him 3-0 at Lindenwood) or Holschlag from UNI (from Union, don't know if he's wrestled Colbray before or not).

Good draw for Storr, he'll get a chance to go up against #20 early and then Meredith in the quarters.

Has Pestano wrestled Ellingwood from CM before? Pestano has looked decent this year and could be top 20 at 184 it seems.

Lots of good draws for our guys to figure out where they are at. Just about everybody is guaranteed at least one match against a guy in the 16-20 range of the rankings.

Allison took the first shot but wasn't able to finish it. Ended up giving up a TD and about a minute of RT. Down 0-2 after the first period.

Allison is no Ethan Lizak but he is pretty salty on top. If he wins matches this year he's going to do it with his riding.

Allison benefits from a somewhat generous ref and gets some backpoints while riding the guy out the whole 2nd period. Tied up 2-2 and RT isn't a factor going in to the third.

Looks like it might become a factor here.

Edit: Never mind.
