Nope. I have not found a single decent barbecue joint in CR. And I'll agree, the lack of an Old Chicago (or two) is an atrocity.
Al and Irenes used to be good.... its been less good for about a year or 2.

It may be a little bit overrated but here isn't a place like it in Cedar Rapids to my knowledge. Cut me some slack I am a little deprived.
Sorry brah! You do not even have a Famous Daves or anything like that?

My rankings were also based on when Flying Burrito was Flying Burrito, and in it's old location, and right after it opened. I haven't been there since like 2006. Sounds like it has gone way down hill.

Pepperjax is good? I have heard of it before, will have to try it out as it is opening soon across from Valley West Mall.

Ya Pepperjax is the bomb. I actually had a steak wrap from there for lunch today. I think they do more philly cheesesteak business than their wraps and rice bowls though, so it's not exactly a burrito place.

Al and Irenes used to be good.... its been less good for about a year or 2.

I had it last year, and was very disappointed. Small portions, mediocre food, and their "hot" bbq sauce was orange and nearly flavorless, no spice at all.

Qdoba is a slight step up from taco bell, my ex-gf loved that place and there's a reason she is my ex-gf.

Qdoba had some really good chicken tortilla soup, that was the reason to go there. You could do the "Pick 2" or whatever it was for dinner, get a tiny bowl of soup and a little bitty burrito bowl, and it was the perfect size.

Panchero's is horrible.

Panchero's isn't nearly as good as Panchero's*.

*Welch Ave.

(Probably dating myself a bit there. Seriously though, Panchero's sucks dog balls now.)

had it once at the north liberty location... closed shortly after.... mediocre describes it right. nothing was bad, but nothing was good either.
