Derek Jeter currently has 2747 hits at age 35.
At the end of his age 35 season Pete Rose had 2762. He then played another 10 years and finished with 4256.
At 200 hits per season Jeter would have to play 8 more years to break Rose's record. I think it would be a real long shot. Not that many players keep their skills that far after age 40, plus I'm not sure Jeter would attempt to hang around that long just to break a record.
