We will install a ground up tire field just in time for the American Association of Medicine to confirm that it is responsible for cancer in approximately 3% of former division 1 athletes.

I think our field normally is a showcase of the stadium, but wouldn't be against field turf given what happened this year with it.

While we likely only play 2 games in November, imagine if we'd of have a bad weather event in late October....field may never have recovered (or even last week's weather like yesterday's)

What stuck out to me was coach did sit three guys (Anyi, Eisworth, and one other) specifically because field conditions could have impacted their injuries/recoveries.

Leave it to Cyclone fans to have a 10 page thread on the turf. That being said I would hope that Pollard pulls in the turf guy and Campbell to discuss these things like adults (unlike here) long before any decisions are made. It is undeniable this fall has been **** weather wise. Artificial is not necessarily safer, green does not necessarily mean it is healthy.

This really isn’t a Campbell decision. It’s a college of Ag and University President decision. Sooooo zero chance ISU doesn’t have grass going forward. It’s too valuable of a teaching tool

Go back to bed and get some rest

The good part of it is that almost no one is going to read that story anyway. The only stories 99% of people are reading about tonight and tomorrow are about the conference championships and the playoff hunt

Yeah, the college football coverage is going to be Alabama’s comeback and the debate of Georgia/OU/OSU. No one outside of Clones and Hawks give a **** about the game. Including bowl reps.

I was just thinking the same thing. I know I'm in an ISU forum when there is a 10 page debate on grass! Haha. I love the grass, love the grass team, love our discussions of the grass. All that being said if CMC feels passionately about getting rid of it I'm gonna listen. We should be doing everything we can to keep that man happy. Never should he hear "no, it's an Iowa State tradition."

This. If you have to hire a team of top of the line professionals and this is the best it can be in the worst conditions, it’s time for a change.

As much as I hate artificial turf or a rug ...It might be time for JP and Coach Matt Campbell to consider it...

and remember GO Cyclones

We may have lost 2 starters last night to grass. And we kept maybe our most important defensive player out due solely to grass.

Whatever CMC wants be it grass, turf or asphalt.

I’ll go on record as being against an asphalt playing surface. That just doesn’t seem like a good move.
