Exactly it got cold early this year and then we had what 3-4 games after the first freeze. Stop getting home games in late November and certainly don't think you should play in December on that field. Plus, you throw in a complete waste of a crowd with only like 5,000 there today.
Wha? you want to play our last 3 or 4 games away, I dont think so, advantage everyone else.

This. If you have to hire a team of top of the line professionals and this is the best it can be in the worst conditions, it’s time for a change.
Agreed. And the change needed is simply for the weather to be different next year.

Some say resodding is due. I’ll take their word on that.

Listening to some of Campbell's comments on the condition of the field over the season, it appears he is not happy with the playing surface on the natural grass.
While I love the natural grass, and I know we have the best in the country, plus I know we have had absolutely horrible conditions this year, some of his comments have made me wonder what his feelings are.
Does anyone think he has started to put pressure on the department to replace the field with Turf? Does he really not like the natural grass or is it just he is discouraged with the conditions due to the weather? Does anyone have any actual knowledge of his preference? What does everyone think, are things starting to lean towards moving back to turf? I hope not, but the field has had a rough year.

Interesting I asked the same question last week and it was heavily disliked

I remember a poor ISU fb team hanging with Iowa @ Kinnick---the last year Iowa had it's do-over with a grass field 5-6 seasons ago.. The field had 6 inches of water that didn't drain--a debacle. Iowa went to TURF the next year.

If our field is the best our world-class agronomy/turf mgmt dept can do, then replace it with turf.

Iowa’s field and stadium is still trash.

Agree 100%. And yet for whatever lack of effort/execution the Cyclones brought today, don't you feel better about Butler's ability to get separation, or Montgomery's ability to run around (or get traction to run through) defenders if the field isn't such a swamp?
I totally get what everyone is saying about the grass vs. turf argument. A turf field would’ve made our athletic advantage shine much brighter and I’m sure we would’ve won by a lot more, and also while I don’t like that the field was trashed and crap last week also, our team needs to find ways to win when things are not perfect, and they found a way to win today. I love our grass field and I’d hate to see it turned to turf just because it was bad the last few weeks. If the field continually has issues like this next year or in the later months of the season in the future, then I’d maybe swallow my pride and say turf is the way to go. I’m saying it shouldn’t be done just yet. This year has been a year for extreme weather of just about every type, and the field workers will learn from this and Mother Nature isn’t usually this pissed off either.

Well, I tried asking if people were hearing the same thing as I was from CMC, and even said I love the natural grass. But realize we struggle to maintain it late in the season after the grass goes dormant.
But everyone still took it as I wanted to get rid of the grass. It was more I was questioning if people thought CMC was sounding as displeased with it as I was hearing, and what people thought would happen if he truly wanted to go with artificial field turf.
