Didn’t we beat a 12 Iona and a 13 Little Rock to get to the Sweet Sixteen 2 years ago???

Yes and people (probably no nothing) continually act like they doesn’t count.

He's a good coach, but not a coach where rivals want him to leave because he's elevating the program above where they should be.

His peak at Kansas St. is sweet 16 and low point is NIT or being 8th or 9th in the Big 12. After next year we'll see if anyone replaces Wade for them. They can replace Brown but Wade is someone that was kind of a legacy recruit. He presents mismatch problems that is tough to recruit when you have as bad of recruiting classes as they do.

That's like saying "I'm a really good driver, I just don't know how to operate the gas pedal." In college recruiting is part of the coaching job. If you're not a good recruiter you're not that good of a college coach.

He recruited every single player on his team currently that is in the Sweet 16 and finished 4th in a pretty good B12.

He's been a head coach 20 years combined at 3 schools and been to 12 tournaments. He's taken all 3 schools to a Sweet 16, so he's obviously finding players.

Generallya good coach but tends to dork around a lose games at crucial moments.

GREAT gif-friendly personality.

He has been as far as the great hoiberg and the great prohm. Am I missing something? Every year Kansas state does pretty good. Never a bottom dweller.

Weber has an average finish of 6th place in his 6 seasons in the Big 12. Not a bottom dweller, but nothing to brag about either. Lucky UMBC beat UVA, because KSU probably would of struggled to score 40 tonight if they played UVA.

He's not great, but he is solid. Doesn't have a lot of wins in the tourney since the run at Illinois with Selfs guys, but getting to the tourney 4/6 years at KSU is solid.

Let's not use CF as a gauge for good coaches. Trent Johnson is an all time CF favorite while Scott Drew and Weber are hapless bumbling idiots.

Well, he continues to put teams into the NCAA tournament on a consistent basis. I'd say he's a good coach.

I suppose I should have said he's not great at getting highly ranked recruits, but must be good at finding undervalued players and developing them into all big 12 players. His results speak for themselves.

Jesus.

Iowa State fans in a nutshell:

Steve Prohm beats a double digit seed to get to sweet 16: it barely counts. They only had to beat a 13 and a 12. (Never mind they EARNED the right to play the 13). A sweet 16 only counts if you beat a 1 snd a 2.

Bruce Weber beats a 16 seed to get to the sweet 16: Bruce is the best coach ever. I mean that win against UMBC was a thing of beauty.

For once, I wish we’d hold our coaches to the same standard as we hold others.
Who said he's the best coach ever? Some people act like he's the worst coach in the big 12, yet he continues to finish in the top 6-7 consistently and has a 1st place finish.

He’s solid at beating teams he should beat. Yes, does mean he can coach. If he’s going to get my vote as a top tier coach, he has to win the big ones against top level competition.
He's gotten to the championship game before. That's pretty top level.

Comparing a 12 or 13 seed to go a 16 seed is beyond stupid. There's a reason they're the first 16 seed to win and it's not because 1 seeds are just untouchable and 2 and 3 seeds aren't. The year we beat that 13 seed we crushed a 30 win team coached by Chris Beard. This year UMBC lost to Albany by over 40 points and lost to Vermont by 30 points

That game set basketball back 35 years... the worst game of the tournament by both sides. Virginia would have beat Sunday night UMBC by 35 points, but thats basketball.

Congrats to K-State, but Bruce Webber has a very low ceiling with these type of teams. Also a higher floor... which works well when the remaining good teams **** the bed.
