I'll take a shot.

Brett Favre will end up as a has-been quarterback looking for all the attention he can get well into his mid 40s.

What do I win???

Brett Favre will end up...

on the front page of ESPN.com and occupy the first 10 minutes of every Sportscenter after eating a sandwich and drinking a glass of water for lunch. ESPN will have 3 "experts" break down what kind of deli meat he selected for his sandwich, along with cheeses, condiments, and bread. After that 10 minutes is up, America will change the channel because nothing else in the world matters more than what Brett Favre does on a day-to-day basis.

I wish there was a voting option for not caring...I am so sick of seeing nothing but Favre garbage on espn. It's gotten ugly and needs to end.

As a lifelong Packers fan, I'm tired of it too. I've gone from wishing he hadn't retired to wishing he'd stay retired. I hope the Packers keep him and sit him on the bench. If Rodgers gets hurt, then let him play, but until then let him sit.

From the Packer standpoint, this has to be very frustrating. The constant turmoil with will he retire or won't he finally ended this spring, only to be back in their face again.

The thing I don't understand and could cause the Packers some serious egg on their face for a very long time...

How they can "look their fans in the eye" and tell them, they think they'll win more games with Rodgers than Favre.

Because that, is completely crazy.

As mentioned on the radio today over lunch - ask the Dolphins how they're doing post-Marino. Check with the Broncos and see how they've done post-Elway. Or the 49ers post Montana/Young (save a year or two with Garcia).

The NFL is a win now league - not later. Fans pay a ton for their tickets - they're not interested in next year - they're paying for this year.

While Favre has certainly created a circus, if he wants to suit up for you - ya play the guy - period.

You forgot to mention how all the ESPN people will comment on how he has to be the best quarterback ever at eating a deli sandwich. On top of all his accomplishments, he even eats sandwiches better than everyone else.

There's not a lot in here I disagree with. However, the situation Favre has created has two real dimensions to it. First, no matter what, the Pack has egg on it's face. Second, the ONLY truly positive outcome to this season now, Favre or Rodgers, is a Super Bowl Championship.

No matter what happens short of a Super Bowl Championship, everybody and everything will be second guessed. Like it or not, and I don't, this distraction is going to last for years and is going to make Rodgers job of replacing Favre that much more difficult. He may never be embraced by the GB fans no matter how well he does after this circus unless he wins the big one.

Lastly, I don't think Favre can win the Super Bowl. In almost any scenario, he's going to have to go through cold weather games to do it, and he showed us over the last several years that he can't do that anymore.

Will Rodgers win the Super Bowl this year? I highly doubt it. Can he get us to the playoffs? Very possible. IMO, that's all Favre is going to be able to do too. Maybe win a couple more games along the way, but not the big one.

Which is why I'd put Favre on the bench and not play him. If Rodgers gets hurt, we've got a pretty good backup.

:biglaugh: I kinda have that same feeling but I have never been a Farve fan either so I never like hearing about him!
