I bet he will enter the draft without an agent. Hopefully he decides to stay, but either way i wish him the best.

Everyone has been saying he's declaring without an agent, I've been guessing Friday (tomorrow) is D-day, but who knows, we may not hear "offical" word till next week. I hope he declares, gets some good knowledge, and returns to Ames next season. I'm not too confident though, at worst i'll have an NBA team to root for next season (Thanks Larry Bird you ****).

I am curious as to why he hasn't filed yet, that's kinda where I was heading with this. Something is holding him back, I wonder what it is?

Brackins needs to stay, Hamilton still is another year from being a above average big 12 guy, and Ive seen JUCO transfer Dendy play 4or 5 times and wasn't too impressed

I was told that the release for his declaration was being worked on weeks ago. Second thoughts?

I have seen blogs that have said "It was a good choice for Brackins to declare for the draft" this and that so I really dont know. If he knows for sure why wait to say it?

This guy if you type in brackins or Mcd he just rips them in half.
He's been following and writing about ISU sports his entire life.
When he says Mcdermott's made a mess of things at Iowa State, he knows what he's talking about.

Brackins has probably been reading the articles about Curtis Stinson in the Rag which are about Stinson's wonderful career with the Iowa Energy. No offense to Brackins, as I think that he has the potential to be an NBA player, but he just plainly is NOT ready. He scored the points and had the rebounds for a team that wasn't all that good. He wasn't consistently dominating at the college level. And if you take away the hype that he got after ringing up 42 points against Kansas, Brackins is not being talked about as a possible NBA draft entry. Brackins would just be another foolish college player who failed in the NBA if he leaves this year. I wish him the best. But he is late first round or second round at best this year. Pretty foolish to come out early.

My guess, and I hope it isn't true, is that Craig is trying to weigh the respective benefits of declaring with or without an agent. I hope it's without, and I hope he comes back and dominates next year, then takes his well deserved contract as a sure fire lottery pick then.

I think he still has a few weeks to throw his name in the hat. Craig is a very solid player and I think he has a bright future in the NBA but it isn't now. From watching him play he is not NBA ready as of today. Sure he has height, athleticism, and can flat out shoot the rock but he is missing one thing that is vital in the NBA.... durability. Craig needs to put on some more muscle. I seriously doubt he is physically ready to take on the NBA at this point in time. Playing an 80 game schedule is going to be a lot more taxing then just playing 20 to 30 games at the collegiate level. I think another year of developing his strength and overall game will do him a world of good. That and the fact that I believe his draft stock will do nothing but rise if he can come back and have another year like this past season or even better.

FCMC.....

Ron maly has NEVER been a friend of isu sports. His columns in the soon to be defunct DM ragister were invariably negative toward ISU. He was asked not to return to the DM Cyclone club luncheons at the Best Western yrs ago.

For you to make the statement 'he knows what he is talking about' says you don't.
