Oklahoma fans are mad at the Big 12, but it has nothing to do with money or on field success.

They simply think they're better than it, the home slate is boring, and don't realize that those things aren't going to change if they join the Big 10, SEC or Pac 12.

They're making a **** load of money (and will get re upped at the end of the current deal) and are coming off one of the best revenue sports seasons in school history. Oklahoma Fan wants out, but it's not really about money. It's some weird self-imposed ego thing.

All of this plus the fact that the B1G and SEC stand to widen the gap financially. OU fans have no sense of how good they've got it.

Sounds more like Missouri.

What does Okie State think? Seems odd that they aren't mentioned more in the discussion by OU and the Oklahoma BOR.

This. My feeling on Missouri was they wanted out just so they could show everyone that someone else wanted them after the Big Ten took Nebraska instead of them. It was a total ego move. The other 3 departures at least made some sense to me, Missouri jumped off after the GoR had been discussed, and it appeared the Big 12 was getting stability back.

Pretty much this. When OU was thinking about joining the PAC, their idiot fanbase was all for it so they could watch "better football." It didn't matter when pointed out to them that the Big 12 was rated a stronger football conference at that time. It didn't matter that playing Pacific Coast Timezone schools meant later games, which many might not be able to watch fully. It didn't matter that away games would be significant travel for their fans. They were all tshirt fans who wanted to watch "better football."

They were all head-over-heels about the Pac 12 road trips because they were tired of going to games in Midwest **** holes. Like Norman, apparently. I'm sure Billy Bob in Lawton was going to mortgage the trailer to see a game at the Rose Bowl when they played UCLA once every 5 years.

http://gridironnow.com/big-12-sec-conference-realignment/

Oklahoma president David Boren has been steadfast for the past year in believing his conference needs to return to 12 members to compete on and off the field with the SEC and Big 10. Along with Texas, Oklahoma’s opinion is the only one that matters in the Big 12.

There are 2 teams that are the Crown Jewels of the Big 12, Texas and Oklahoma. We should not kid ourselves. TTU and TCU are playing a dangerous game in their support of Texas. Texas and Oklahoma will do fine no matter what. TTU and TCU will be as irrelevant as everyone else.

Like it or not, the Big 12 must expand and get the CCG. 2 divisions with 6 teams each and a CCG. Big 12 will actually increase revenue by about $3 million per team in that scenario. Maybe even more if they can get the new members to take less for a few years. Long range, the conference needs to look at a Conference network. Although there are several teams out there that are doing okay with Tier 3 rights.
