Great stuff. After the loss against OSU two weeks ago, I was telling people that October football has brought me so much joy in the last 3 years that I can’t be too upset with one disappointment. And the Oklahoma game started it all.

I remember texting my dad when they put Lanning in that we were going to get blown out but it was awfully fun seeing him play both ways. Who knew?!? And there remains nothing better, for me as a fan, then the inevitable phone call from my mom and dad after a big Iowa state win.

Best win in my lifetime, hands down.

Watching Mayfield not be able to figure things out to close out the game was in my eyes even better than 'Touchdown! They did it!'.

It was truly shocking to watch Mayfield on 4th down. I think everyone in the country expected him to drive down and score relatively easily. When he started floating right with nowhere to scramble was the first moment I didn't feel like we were going to lose.

Watching Lanning spring back up off the turf and sack Baker was awesome. I don't think Baker thought he would be able to get back up on his feet that quick. Never underestimate a wrestler!

Where they love the governor
And I got to miss it because my niece was getting married. In Canada. At least I was able to hang out in the car with my "sleeping" son and stream the end of the game over radio.

My all-time favorite sports moment was Carrie Shrug. Tears poured from my eyes. Naz draining threes against okey state in OT is right up there.

The whole OU win followed a little later by the TCU win was surreal. It made me feel better than I have ever felt to be a Cyclone fan.

Went down to that game as my wife;s family lives near Norman and her brother works for OU. Got to my father in -law's house after 10 hour drive and the first thing out of his mouth was "Hey I heard your QB was too scared to come to Norman. Tell me about your back-up."

I honestly had no idea who the starter would be. Crazy day in the stands. But as the game wore on the Sooner fans around us got more and more gracious about getting beat. Even when they still thought they would win they acknowledged that we played a heck of a game.

One of my favorite moments of that day was when Joel Lanning was interviewed on the sideline after the game. Sideline reporter Jen Hale asked Joel how he was able to play offense, defense and special teams at such a high level. Joel responded, "they weren't asking me to do too much". The response made me laugh out loud.

Definitely heard a lot of "you kicked our butts". They were more disappointed in their team and coaches than anything.

Love me some Lanning. I'll never hear the end of it from my father however, who said from before Lanning even stepped foot on campus he should be a LB. Insufferable when he talks about it lol.

Spark the offense and get crucial 1st down runs.

Special teams: at the least run a long distance and then have to play defense right after.

Defense: just spy and relatively shut down the future Heisman winner.
