I don't know if it's a done deal but I'd by lying if I said I didn't think he'd go. I heard his family is bored of Lawrence and would like to get back to a more urban area. Daughter to transfer to OSU.
Yeah, his son who is on the basketball team and who still has two seasons left, is ready to pick up and leave. Gotcha

Maybe they can explain to their fan base why they couldn't afford to sign both Westbrook and Durant and go over the cap at all. "We needed to pay a head coach with no experience more than all but two or three coaches in the league to not be taking a pay cut to leave his job". Gotcha. I love comedy hour. This is fun.
"We couldn't remain competitive with three max salary guys on our roster at the time Harden's contract was due to be renewed. We chose to keep Kevin and Russel and add more supporting pieces around them in hopes of capturing an NBA championship." That is what I would say.

There is this new thing in the college basketball landscape called transferring. He may be able to do that.

He's such a critical member of the team, plus I'm sure the new coach will keep him if he wants to stay but I'm guessing he's sick of Lawrence too

He's already redshirted a year. I doubt if Self wants to burn a year of his son's eligibility. This is fun. Keep 'em coming!

IF the rumors end up being true and Self goes to OKC, would you consider changing your name to zerocoach?

LOL twocoach all butthurt and worked up. Good job guys.
Nah, just enjoying some harmless banter. Jokes one way, jokes back. It's all in fun. If you can't laugh at yourself then you can't laugh at others and who wants to live in a world where you can't laugh at others?!?

Self already has a $50 million contract at Kansas.

So you dont think OKC would top whatever he gets paid now is my point? I dont know the exacts of his current contract nor do i care. My point being they will pay him much more and Self would have to be offered significantly more to leave. Do i think he is actually leaving ......no but i was just making a point.

Come on dude, I'm sure Bill loves his son, but if this is something he truly wants, then he's not basing his decision on his walk on son, who wouldn't sniff the team if it wasn't for him.

I'm no Mathmagician but it would seem like:

Play 400 minutes over 1 season is still more than playing 19 minutes over 2 seasons.

Lebron heads home and everyone thinks every superstar will head back to their roots now. I don't see KD or Westbrook leaving.

A few items of note:

* Don't get your panties in a wad Tuco, this is what happens when you're a big time program. Hell we deal with it with Fred all the time.
* Also, it's not ISU fans starting this rumor so let's get that straight.
* Westbrook and Durant have been staunch supporters of Brooks so firing him isn't gonna help you keep those two.
* NBA gonna NBA. When a team that should make the playoffs doesn't the blame game starts. Head coach and GM blame each other, fans pick a side, ownership feels they need to make a move. This is as dumb as the Bulls situation. If you stuck with Brooks through the last few years, why would you think of canning him now?
* TWolves fans are still talking about Izzo. Flip won't give up the dream of handing the job to him.

Winning a title, or titles, is the best way to keep those two. OKC should have made the call to move from Brooks a few years ago. Sometimes you need a coach that pisses off your stars once in a while, and pushes them at times. But since they've stuck with Brooks this line, they might as well stay with him now.

Made a bet with a friend (KU fan) that Self would leave for OKC before Hoiberg leaves for the Bulls. Just seems to make sense to me. I know he is loved in Lawrence but going to coach a good Thunder team with great fans just seems to appealing to pass up.
