Who is going to KC for the tourney?

Do you have hotels booked already or going to wait until we get a little closer?

I'm going.... Since I live there I do not need a hotel.. but I am not sure what I am going to do about tickets and parking.... Might just try to scalp... IDK

As of last night planning on going. Seeing who else wants to go with this week before getting hotels. not sure on what to do about tickets. Never been before so could use stone advice on what's the best strategy.

Looking at the bracket I really hope we get the 3 seed.

Tickets are going for a lot as of now. I think things will cheapen up for the first couple sessions when people realize what sessions their teams are actually playing in.

Cheapest I have found for lower level all sessions right now is 750 a ticket

I have found that going to the Craigslist sites of other schools towns is a good idea for finding tickets if you know that team isnt playing in the session. Otherwise, if you dont care where you sit... just wait a few minutes after the sessions start and tickets get real cheap.

Best advice is to scalp. If we play the second game of the session get the cheapest ticket possible, attend 1st game then bum tickets from people leaving down low. Have gotten in for 10 bucks and sat two rows back. Also if you go the first night, buy some tickets from the losing team before getting out the door. Buy all session if you can, and remember if we lose, KU fans will buy them from you for a lot.

oskyclone has obviously been to the tournament before, and is wise!

I'm heading there with price26 and whoever else joins us. Like he said, we're working on getting a head count with our party before getting hotels. I would like to stay close to downtown, though. I've been once before, and we scalped tickets right before the game for about $20 a piece if I remember right. It will depend on when we play. I'm not willing to shell out $750 for an all-session seat. If we stay in the top 4, we won't be in the first session anyways (and I won't make it to town until Thursday).

Should be a fun weekend (and possibly a great weekend, depending on how we play)!

With only 10 teams, only 7-10 have Thursday games. 1-6 don't have to play until day 2. There are no 11 and 12 seeds for 5 and 6 to play.

I've accepted it'll be too expensive/impossible to guarantee five tickets for my friends and I who want to go.

There will be plenty of chances to buy tickets, just scalp them, unless you are dead set on sitting 5 together. 4 should be easy and a single or 3 and 2. Or bring another friend and do 4 and 2. Won't be that expensive unless we are in the championship game and well, that wouldn't be cheap for anyone. Kansas City is awesome and the set up down there is great. Do it....

Then you have a reason not to sit with your wife. Hey, win-win right.

Me and a friend were talking about it the other day.. hotels are a bit pricey near the sprint center (no surprise there, of course, huge event and all), so dont know where we'd stay, but definitely thinking about it at this point.

Stay in St. Joes. Unless you actually want a decent hotel and a place where someone does have to hit rats or stand guard. Cheap rooms.

These games with Baylor will determine if we are 3 or 4. I used for mred bracket generator for both MBB and WBB as I'm going for both, but it's a real possibility that ISU and KSU mbb and wbb could each be playing each other at the same time on Thurs. What a cluster**** that would be?

theres a parking garage near the corner of 13th and walnut that is only $2 to park. when they have events at the sprint center, they put actual people at the parking garage entrance rather than have you take a ticket because they ask you where youre going and charge you based on that. just an fyi, if you say youre going to get a beer at the bar 'the flying saucer' a block away, its $2. if you say youre going to the sprint center, itll be $10 or $15.

Just an FYI for those looking to go...

Priceline just a few minutes ago hooked me up with the Westin KC about a mile from the Sprint Center for $90 a night (Thursday and Friday night). If you are looking to go I suggest naming your own price...I seem to usually get pretty lucky through there.
