It has over 3 million views on YouTube as well as being a pretty big hit at the time of its release. I dunno if I'd call it obscure. It was big around the net a couple years ago as "what english sounds like to non english speakers" or something like that.

I admit I was unaware of its buzz, either at the time or recently on the Net.

Spoke As a Child by Todd Snider. Don't know if this qualifies or not. I'm never sure how Snider is perceived. Seems like either people have never heard of him or have seen him in concert a bunch of times and love him. There's no in between, so I don't know how unheard of he actually is or not.

Love this song, though. Especially the line "You know, sometimes growing up, I think I'm getting wiser and then other times I think I'm just getting old." I love this even more as I age.
