Wow, Pizza King is still there? I'm pretty sure that was the place that was in the heart of downtown CB, then moved east near the hospitals. It's been 40 years, but I remember it as a square cut, very greasy pizza. Makes my mouth water thinking about it.
Still there and actually doing some remodelleig on the outside. Still great pizza.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but the Harrington at Leaning Tower in Ankeny is one of our fav's. The Potter is good too if you like lots of stuff on your pizza.
Love the Harrington. In fact, this thread has made me hungry for that very pizza.

I'm a big fan of them and Bordenaros. I tend to go to Bordenaros more often, but their but great. A Big Tomato also hits the spot from time to time.

Ate Chuck's tonight and it was pretty good, I like the old school feel of the place.
My fav in the metro is still Orlondo's.

Tomaso's in CR for sure have the Detroit, u'll thank me.......and everyone else who has suggested the same.

I actually prefer the Chicago style to the Detroit, although both are excellent. Tomasos has great thin crust pizza also. The fresh ingredients really shine on thin pizza. I don't know if I've ever had thin pizza at Zoeys. When I go there, I'm All-In with the Chicago Zoey. It's a close race between Zoeys and Tomasos. Tomasos is much closer for me, so I have a lot more of those. The do vary from time to time, which is one reason I give Zoeys the gold medal.

Agreed, I have no clear-cut favorite but you've got to be joking about Old Chicago. Will it fill me up? Yes. Should it ever be mentioned as anywhere near the "best in the state"? Heck no.
If can be bought out of state, it should not be in the running for best in the state.

There is a lot of good pizza in the state so it is hard to give a clear cut winner. But I do know the best Pizza isnt at the Bowling Alley in Stuart. Other places with bad pizza are CCs in Des Moines and Chucky Cheese.
