Ok.... We had this thread before with Pizza, so now I wanna know what is your favorite place for hot wings.

Chicken Coop in my opinion has the best wings. They are huge and meaty, with a good hot sauce, and a great tasting jalapeno garlic flavor sauce. Wednesday is their cheap wing night and it cost $.45 per wing and usually $2 beers if a game is on.

I don't like Bufalo Wild Wings. Portions are too small for the price and it's too hyped up. Kinda like Hooters.

Did like Jethro's but haven't gone there just for wings yet.

Where is the Chicken Coop located? I have heard of it.

I like BWW, but like other things that they have to offer more than their wings.

Hyvee right out of the case. Oven for 20 minutes and crock pot for an hour. They are the right kind of spicy and their barbecue are tasty also. $3.99 pound.

Chicken Coop is in the mini-mall where the Hy-Vee is on the corner of Grand and Railroad in West Des Moines. Great place for wings. Only thing that sucks is during football season it is home to the Nebby fan club.

Francies on Fluer has good hot wings. Get there before 6 and they are on happy hour prices. I also remember that Trophys has decent wings and IIRC they weren't pricey.

Is the Chicken Coop owned by a husker fan, or am I imagining things? I remember hearing them advertised on Moron & Miller last year and I somehow have it in my head that they're a husker hangout or something. If I am way off base, maybe I will try it sometime.

Edit- ^ I guess that answers my question ^

I'm definitely a fan of BWW's buffalo ranch chicken sandwich. Kick the sauce up to something stronger and its even better.

No buffalo wild wings? But what about 40 cent boneless thursday? And the fact that of all the different places for wings, they seem to be the best place for watching a game if you don't have a bar dedicated watching the one game you want to catch that night.

The problem is, you've gotta define boneless vs traditional wings.

BWW- great at boneless (so i go there because i like boneless wings)... their traditional.. pretty meh, imho.

And a lot of places that are great at traditional completely suck at boneless

BWW boneless hands down. Best atmosphere for sports and wide selection of sauces. Parmesan Garlic and Honey BBQ are the favs of this household.

This isn't even a contest, it's Gerri's. Gerri's is a little dive bar over by the fairgrounds, but they have the best wings around here by far.

Definitely a Husker bar! Had a friend in from out of state over the holidays, we were looking for a place to go out and watch the Husker bowl game, we started there and had to move across the street. The place was Husker central.

Their wings are good. If you're just hitting the drive-thru, KFCs new fiery wings are pretty good....I was surprised.

BWW has great "breaded chicken nugets" Not Hot Wings..... Boneless is for the week of heart. I want wings with bones in them. Not processed chicken chunks.

Chicken Coop started in Nebraska in Kearney. So Husker fans label it has their "official" place to be for games. Although they do have ISU games on and Iowa.

I had there Garlic Parmesan wings one night with my wife. Would like to try their wing night but just haven't ventured up there yet for it. How is there hot sauce wings??? I know they have bigger wings and pieces like Coop does.

I agree with Cykid too.... My favorite wings are usually the ones I make at home from the HyVee. That way I can play with how hot they are.
