I'm the best man in a wedding this summer. So that means I'm doing the bachelor party. The guy who is getting married is probably my longest and one of my best friends. But he doesn't like going to huge towns and not much of the bar scene. He would much rather stay at home drink and "smoke" then go out. So that puts me in a predicament. So instead of doing a huge bar crawl or doing a destination party.

This is what I decided to do. I rented a cabin in Southeast Iowa for the Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. And like 10 or 12 of us are going to just drink and grill and watch basketball all weekend. With a 20 dollar buy in poker tournament Saturday morning
while we wait for the games to start.

Anyways I was looking for the feed back, I think it will be a blast and figured we could kill some time waiting til 5, with people telling stories of their favorite bachelor party or what they consider to be the best idea for a bachelor party.

That looks really nice and sounds like a fun idea. You did a good job of tailoring the party to what he would want.

Sounds like fun to me!

The Des
That's pretty solid. One suggestion I would give is to bring a couple TVs, splitters, coax cables and/or laptops, if you have room. With four games going on at once, that's a lot of flipping back and forth with just one TV. Since that's the purpose of the weekend, why not go all out?

That's my place!

I don't think I want a bachelor party of "smokers" renting my property..

Consider your rental agreement terminated.

That sounds awesome, really.

My favorite bachelor parties have been destinations:

- Vegas: 3 guys, all friends, had their bachelor parties at the same time. Was pretty good time, but I can only spend so much time in that town before it starts to get to me. 2.5-3 days...max.

- Chicago: Went to 2 Cub games, bar hopped and played WirleyBall (may have been tossed from the place after a bit, but it was a blast anyway)

- Ski trip to CO. Stayed in Brekenridge and skied Copper and A-Basin. That was a really good time.

- Maybe my favorite was renting a house boat in The Ozarks and just tying off for 3 days. That place is crazy (depending on when you go) and can be a little dangerous, but for about 10-12 guys just out of college, it was a good time. About burned the whole place down grilling 85% lean (and half frozen) patties on the back grill (flame from those babies was at least 5 feet high).

I miss bachelor parties.

I know I said it already, but your plan sounds like a really good time.

That should be a blast.

With my group of buddies, we've done a bunch of different styles. There have been a couple of canoeing/tubing trips (Raccoon in Adel, St. Croix north of the Cities), a trip to Chicago that included a game at Wrigley (absolutely epic time all around), Des Moines party buses (including the bachelor getting ****** on by a stripper at Lumberyard), a weekend partying at a lake house in NW IA, and a small town party-bus gravel travel.

There's no right or wrong way to do it, so long as the groom has a blast.

Is the bolded another word for being pee'd on? If so, that's so RKelly like.

It is.

He wasn't looking for it, but the next day we realized he reeked of urine and clearly hadn't urinated himself. He doesn't really remember the Lumberyard, but he absolutely got demolished on the stage. Honestly, it was so over the top, I've never included a strip club on a bachelor party since.

Except for one of the small-town gravel travel parties. There were strippers on the party bus. They weren't attractive, and the groom's dad bit one in the ***. We were cruising around the dumpy little towns just outside the Quad Cities.
