I'm glad to see the positive outlook from BDJ. He has an enormous amount of raw talent and will be a key part of the team's success.

No ****. BDJ was nominated the whipping boy very early on, way before the legal snafu. It died down for him for a while and shifted to Matt, when Matt had a few good games BDJ was back in the crosshairs.

Every time I see one of these threads I think that BDJ must be Matt's hero.

If a guy in a movie says to his teammates that he'll bring his best game for the postseason right after a couple of games where he struggled, we'd all sit there cheering the guy on.

When it's a Cyclone transfer that some people just refuse to get behind, we have people asking why he'd say that, or mocking the idea of a player stepping up his game, like it doesn't happen all the time.

It's a commitment to teammates, the kind of thing that we're supposed to celebrate in sports, because it's one of the rare, actual character-building development in sports.

I thought we were supposed to celebrate movies and movie stars, because THAT is reality baby.

We wouldn't be 12-6 in conference without BDJ. Same goes for the other 7 guys who have been part of this rotation. We need the bench to keep stepping up like it has for the second half of the conference season.

OH DEAR GOD. i make one simple comment about "Why wait until March to 'step it up'" and all of a sudden I'm lumped into the group that has done nothing but hate BDJ all season? Perhaps ALL of you should do YOUR research and see that I have done nothing short of been on his side the ENTIRE season. So when he himself says he needs to play better in March, I get ripped for commenting on it?

You know what's really funny? At least half of you who ripped me for that comment are likely the ones that have been ripping BDJ for his play the ENTIRE SEASON...

In other words, you all can EABOD.

Interesting defense, though hardly novel. When you can't justify your opinion when facts clearly contradict it, you resort to "I haven't done this before" and "I'm sure some of you have done something similar."

You made a statement re: BDJ's lack of production in Jan/Feb, which is not supported by the facts. You obviously cannot support your unsupported argument. Time to remain silent rather than remove all doubt....

If we spread out the floor like we did in the second half against OU and TCU, BDJ will greatly benefit with his ability to drive to the hoop.

Clearly we have struggled when teams switch on our ball screens. The spread the floor is tough for them to stop Georges and Monte, but if we have a third great penetrator like BDJ, that makes us more difficult to guard. I was hugely dissappointed in how unfocused BDG was for 2 or 3 games in a row, both offensively and defensively, but when he is locked in like this last game, he does it at both ends of the court and is a special player.

Are you trying to get this thread closed down?

You remember the amazingness of last nights BDJ thread, right?

Plus it's WAY better than what's going on here. In fact, every thread ever made about him from this point going forward should be mandated that the title is ONLY "BDJ" and that the Kati Perry gif is the first post.

That's different. In that situation BDJ stands for Boobs Damn Juicy.

I've had my ups and downs all season, but I'll be happy if we just end the season with a win.

Otherwise I'd like to make a run at least as long as we did last year.

No better time than now to step. Good time for it BDJ.

This. And you have to assume that'll happen again considering how successful that offense was, unless it's against Baylor (since they play so much zone).

The big thing for BDJ when he does this is keeping control. He doesn't have especially great ball handling skills, which can be an issue driving the lane. Georges runs into this problem sometimes, although recently he's been better.
