I don't know what they are smoking up there in Spokane Washington. I thought I was one confused dude on this site, but Spokane beats me to it. Put down the pipe Spokane, it will destroy you, hopefully its not too late :)

SpokaneCy just went full-Trump on the message board. 10 posts in 10 minutes.

I am shocked. We didn't miss you guys after the KU win, you didn't have to come back.

There are people on both sides posting in both threads so I dont know how you can draw any kind of comparison. Did you actually go through and separate out the negative-positive in each thread or did you just look at total posts?

There are people in this thread defending Prohm, and posters in the other thread saying they still have a right to voice their displeasure.

It's either a sign that the positive people are here through the good and the bad, or that more negative people are only here after a loss. Point stands either way.

Well, its kind of human nature to get into more conversation when we are struggling. Thats usually the purpose of message boards, people need an outlet to discuss with other fans who are melting down with them. It kind of makes people feel better by talking with other frustrated fans.

When we are winning and playing up to our potential there arent as many things to discuss.

Most people just want to win. Lots of people from both sides that like to pound their chest...see the thread after the Kansas game annointng him as a great coach.

IMO I think he is a very average coach that perhaps looks worse due to the other coaches in the league. I don't see many matchups in the Big 12 where I think we have a coaching advantage...maybe Chris Beard or Bruce Webber.

I would add that I think this is magnified late in close games when coaches can make the greatest difference. I.E. use of timeouts, lineups & substitutions, plays called out of timeouts, and even late defensive adjustments to get a stop.

We just need a legit PF in the range of 6'10 - 6'11 to atleast compete for the rebounds, until that is fixed, Wiggington will be a waste here and other future good PGs won't want to commit to ISU where as much as good they can be, they won't get any help playing for ISU thereby affecting their NBA chances. Prohm needs to step up on the recruitment of bigs. I don't know if he casts his net wider or not, but something is wrong here. Maybe he needs to fire his assistants and bring in some that will him recruit better.
I've been saying this for a while. You can't expect a lot of success with out a decent big post player.

I have been a fan for over 32 years (since I was 7 years old). And I have donated to the Cyclone Club since I was 23 years old...always increasing every year. I don't need a lecture from some fly-by-night fan who thinks the only "true" fans are the ones that only say positive things. Look at my posting history, I didn't call for Rhoads' head, McDermott's head or anyone else....ever. That is not my MO. Do I have some discontent with this coach....I do and I think my reasons are valid based upon what I have seen the past two years. Am I looking for him to be fired....absolutely not and I've said he will ultimately be judged on 2018-19 season.

I think this team has talent and I also know it has its deficiencies. But does anyone think we shouldn't get to the NCAA tournament with the talent that we do have.

You realize that you all but called for the AD's head earlier in this thread at least twice right?

It doesn't matter as all fans need to express their opinion towards their program without fear of being labeled as haters or whatever it is. Yeah I am one of the people that thought the AD should have been fired when he was babysitting his buddy Paul Rhoads on his laps even though most of us knew that our local guy Paul was simply pathetic, he could not recruit, let alone develop the players. There was a dude that went by duffer44 I think(that always compained about the weakness on the DT and OL, then there was a professor (something Johnson,ISU alum) somewhere in Texas that complained about Paul Rhoads pathetic coaching and recruitment, we all got blocked on this site because somehow we were all supposed to pretend as though Paul Rhoads was the savior of our football program that we "DONATE" money towards to, when in actual sense, the beloved Paul was pathetic. So when we complain about somebody, weather its football or basketball, we are not hating, but maybe seeing things that others don't or simply are in denial as was with pathetic Paul Rhoads.

Oh, so people just think you can grab bigs and all of them will be ready to go right away or within 2 years? Why don't you guys just tell us straight out that you do pay attention to basketball?

If Prohm is here 5 years and is pulling win percentages of Rhodes I will be here with pitchforks and fire. But for now gonna leave that stuff in the barn.

Quite a wall of words there man...

I simply pointed out that it IS his MO to call for people's jobs.

I dont give a **** if you call for coaches, ADs, janitors jobs... knock yourself out.

Iowa State should make all of their shots and never let the other team score. They would be a lot better if they did that.

Oh and "box out."

I agree that this team has the talent to go the NCAAs and would guess the vast majority of Cyclones fans thought we would be there when the season began.
Where I do differ is that I am going to support the team as a tourney contender until the big board does not include Iowa State. Doom and gloom at this stage is a waste of time.

This. Give the man the opportunity to actually coach a group of guys that he recruited. The team this year is significantly different from last year...especially on defense. It is a partial transition from Hoiball to his own style and it will transition even further next year. Am I happy with some of his substitution patterns, inbound plays, and timeouts...no, but I want to see the full transition before I call for his head. I'm impressed with his recruits...and excited to see both the finish to this year and the years to follow.

All we needed is 1 serviceable one and we are a lot better. That's what's great about JUCO. There is decent talented players and when they come in the are more ready. Like I said, 1 serviceable one and this team is a lot better.

We have a center with a pulse and we win 4 of those games we lost. And are having 5 seniors staring down a 4 seed again like they should be....not this bubble nonsense.

Again....that's on Prohm. Didn't recruit a center...amazing,
