I freaking love this guy. He makes opposing players disappear. he is as important to this team as any other player including Royce. If he never plays another game he earned a spot on the Aaa Big 12 First team Defense. Actually, I think he should be be named all 5 spots on firts team defense...now announcing the 20111-2012 All Big 12 Defensae Team...Chris Babb from Iowa State...the end.

I couldn't agree with you more. He is the best leader on the team.

Yep, leagues top scorer with 20 a game made 11 last night against Babb. More than the margin of victory.

Love what he brings to the table every game! If he weren't such a streaky shooter we might have an all big 12 guard on our hands.

Embodies toughness, grit and unselfish play. Dude is a gamer!

I think the defensive end takes a lot out of him offensively. Which is fine, eventually he will get accustomed to it and his offense will come. He is too good of a shooter not to get his stroke back. Imagine when he starts hitting again, one more weapon. Really an impressive all around player.

anyone think he has a shot at the pros with his size, lock down D and shooting ability? Seems like a perfect 2 guard

Far from a perfect 2. Not nearly quick enough IMO nor does he have the driving ability or shooting ability to be a 2 in the NBA.

Any of you statisticians out there know what opposing players are averaging against Babb? Seems like he consistently cuts the other guys ppg in half.

Kyle korver??

Who is a ton better shooter than Babb has ever shown to be and is still only a bench player in the NBA. If you are superior at either driving or shooting you can be useful...Babb excels at neither. How many defensive specialists have you heard of in the NBA who have very below average offensive skills for the NBA?

Dude reminds me of Shawn Bankhead who was the defensive specialist under Floyd when we had Willoughby, Pratt, and company. Except Babb is a much much better shooter. Every team needs one or two guys on the roster who are the erasers. The points they take away are sometimes more valuable than those they score.

You said driving ability and quickness. I said korver because he is not quick and cannot drive the ball. He is also terrible at defense yet he is in the league because he is a great shooter. If babb becomes a more consistent shooter and with his defense, I don't see why he can't be a bench player someday as well

Gotta give the guy a huge shout out for poking that ball away after the final in bounds pass preventing them from getting a desperation shot off as well.

Agreed. Any time we leave time on the clock for the other team, I get nervous.

Babb poking the ball out means no shot...no shot mean no chance to win.
