On the surface, it would appear that she's transferring for more playing time and to be a bigger fish in the pond, or perhaps somewhere that is a better fit for her abilities.

Now, we wait for posts telling us how BF's tough coaching style has scarred her emotionally and runied her for major college competition...

I'm amazed at how these student athletes do it. You have the time devoted to their sport and have to keep up with the school work as well. I know I couldn't do it. Good Luck to Ashley, and Alexis & Claire as well.

Most transfer because of intrinsic reasons. I don't understand it, but she does. Good luck to her.

I feel the same way...I wish, for selfish reasons, that she was staying at ISU...but if she feels it is best for her to pursue other options I will do nothing but hope for good things for her.

People who harbor grudges against players just for leaving have issues that go beyond just being a fan. The successes of the teams we root for are not as important as the overall happiness of the individuals.

Wayne State?!? What a drop off.

She would have been a major player this coming year in the Big 12 for ISU....this is really bewildering.

Good luck to her however.

One of the assistants that sat with us at Cy's House of Trivia said she would have started next year. She also kinda impied that Arlen was having a hard time handling the pressures of playing at this level.

Agree that it is, if not bewildering, certainly a puzzle. But that is only because we must speculate on the "real" reason. No one likes ambiguity. I recall when Lisa Bildeaux left several years ago, she simply said she was tired of basketball. There was a reason, plain and simple--and believeable too because she stayed in school, if I recall rightly. Some were mystified when Rachel Pierson left two years ago; she would have played a great deal had she stayed. We did not get a clear reason then, although I heard rumors that she just did not want to run as much as she had to at ISU. Pay your money and take your guess.

Wayne State? Wow, just wow. Maybe she can be like Allen Iverson and just skip practice. She could have gone to UNO and lived in a real dorm. Wayne State (just for comparison) is like transferring to Luther.
