Looks like Appleton is only getting mop up duty for KU and is their sixth option at guard. Unless Collins leaves for the NBA after this season all five ahead of him will return next year. I wonder if he's still happy with his decision to play (I mean sit) for KU.

I assume he thought he'd play and isn't all warm and fuzzy about it. Players are confident in their abilities...until life slaps them in the face.

We'll knock off KU in Hilton this year; they are very mediocre! As for Appleton, I think the odds are high that he doesn't finish his career at Kansas.

I wonder how much time he would be getting at ISU. I really doubt he'd be starting over DG.

Did a quick Google and found THIS.

(He suffered a hip-flexor injury during pre-season and was just cleared to play Nov. 1)

If, indeed, he doesn't ever get substantial playing time, it just shows how much thought JUCO kids need to put into making their decisions. They usually only have 2 years to finish their eligibility and once there, transferring rarely ever makes sense (or an impact for that matter)...

Even Tyrone is completely healthy, I dont think his minutes will go up anymore than 10 minutes per game. KU already have good # of guards, Reed, Collins, Morningstar, Little, Releford, and Taylor. Collins and Reed is starting PG/SG. Morningstar and Taylor is pretty much back up right now. Little is currently injured, but he is supposed to be better than Tyrone. I dont think his minutes will increase next season because KU is supposed to sign either Xavier Henry or John Wall (#1 PG/SG).
As I was watching KU play past three games (since I work for KU), Tyrone is like less developed Curtis Stinson. He has lot of work to do if he wants to start for KU. Its unfortunate that Tyrone picked KU over ISU, but I am happy with the guys that ISU has.

Collins is the most overrated player in college basketball history. The guy is not that good.

Well maybe not in history! But overrated none the less

I wouldnt say he is overrated. He definitely has skills to break down the defense with quick dribbles. He also knows how to score on fast break (because of strong upper-body strength). I wish ISU had someone like Collins who can penetrate.

He is a turnover machine and will be exposed without the great supporting cast he had surrounding him in prior years.

When you're pulling in the best recruiting classes in the conference on a consistent basis, you're never overrated. They are young, but will be dangerous notheless...

Chalmers made the shot that took the game into overtime and eventually got KU a NC, but Collins won that game with the steal and 3 when it looked like the game was over. He also got the steal and assist for the first points in OT. He does turn it over a bit too much, but he can break down the defense and get steals to make up for some of those turnovers. I just can't see Appleton getting very many minutes. If anything I see the freshmen playing in front of him, plus KU signed a guard today that will play in front of him next year. I haven't seen ISU play, so I don't know if he would get minutes for you guys, but he probably should have looked around a little.

Anyone watch the KU vs UMKC (the fighting Kangaroos) on ESPN U last night?

It was tied 32-32 at halftime. And there was a 9 point differential with about 7 minutes left (61-52). KU pulled away in the final 5 minutes and won by 15. If you think the ISU fan crowd was upset about the Cal-Davis game, you should see the KU crowd after this one.

The young team looked a little nervous. When you go 1 of 13 from 3 it's going to be an ugly game. They could have several ugly games this year, especially early. But I think they'll be a pretty good team by the end of the year...not great, but pretty good.

I'm thinking we're overcrowded on guards as it is. And if we had Appleton, we wouldn't be getting Colvin (if we are).
