Just heard this from a guy that hits on probably 50/50 on the rumors he tells me. He’s hearing that Prohm isn’t going to just go along with this “mutual parting” and Pollard is worried about shaking up the AD and affecting football in front of a potentially huge 2021 season.

@cyrocksmypants What's the inside scoop or are you Gunners source?

Your right. But what if Campbell isn't here forever? The next coach could take ISU back to historical levels.

IMO if Jamie Pollard wants to maximize Cyclone Club revenue and football/basketball season ticket revenue- then it makes sense for ISU to be solid in both sports.

Some schools can choose to be a football school because they can sell 75-100k football season tickets. ISU isn't there yet and may never be there. So IMO it is critical to have 2 solid sports where we can sell 65,000 FB ticktets and 14,000 basketball season tickets.

Not banking on Campbell being here forever. And not advocating sacrificing hoops for the football program.

I'm well aware that football success here is more fragile than basketball, but the increase in money, national interest, and fan support from Campbell's success is going to have an impact for a while. A good hire after this season will have basketball "back" in a few years.

This is more of a "point in time" argument. Outside of a few diehards not many ISU fans are going to risk losing their football ticket priority for what could be a special season.

So if I am not buying basketball season tickets, I have a tough time justifying my Cyclone Club payment. If I decide to continue donating to ISU, I would get greater satisfaction donating to the College of Business OR more likely a local charity that will have an impact on the community I live.

Then stop your donation and donate to a local charity... Someone will pick up your tickets/donation next year... ISU Basketball Season Tickets are still in demand. Even if we are bad.. MOST fans don’t drop their tickets.

Fred is the only “Home Run” that Pollard could pull off, which he won’t.
We are setting the bar so low that Pollard is probably feeling zero pressure from fans to go for the home run hire. He will just hire another Prohm, rinse and repeat, etc.....

Nothing says solid like hearing from someone that is probably 50/50.

I am somewhere between unlikely and likely to buy into that.
