Anyone else hearing that JP has already decided Prohm is coming back?

That's why there's no way it's Oztelberger. Pollard has too much at stake, it's too much of a risk. If Otz doesn't cut it, people are going to say "Jamie what were you thinking?" - referring to Oztelberger's mediocre record.
He has to hire someone with a proven resume, someone in demand, so if it doesn't work out, Pollard can still say he hired a hot name. Just like the Chizik hire.

How do you know that JP isn't looking to retire in 4-5 years? Do you thinks he gives a rats rear end if TJ doesn't make good in that time? He has absolutely nothing to lose by hiring his friend.

That is the personal side of things. On the business side you are absolutely correct. We will see which side JP favors.

If Pollard cares about his legacy he won’t hire TJ.

Disagree. JP has been the best thing to happen to ISU. If you build it, they will come. His PR and leadership has got us many better bowl invites, for example. While he wouldn't be my first choice, I agree with others on here that have stated we have no way of determining the future success of TJ, nor would we if he hires Smith, Gates, Moser, Matta, etc, etc.
Whomever JP selects gets my full support, regardless when hindsight rears its head.

Pollard is frugal but he is also competitive.
He cares about ISU and wants every program to win. The choice he makes, I hope, will have nothing to do with a personal choice of helping a friend out. But rather what he truly believes gives the Cyclones the best chance to win and have success...within the framework of the athletic department's budget.

So you think he came here only because JP was here? What was their prior relationship?
"But from most insiders people don’t like JP", just don't like statements like this. I am very close with those in the offices there and could say the opposite. But neither of us are not speaking with first hand experience. I know my second hand info is much different. The only reason to make comments like you made is to tear someone down.

Regarding this post, Campbell came because of the atmosphere and the people. JP just made it happen and continues to work with Campbell's idiosyncrasies. Many people in power would feel they need to weild power over their employees. JP has never been like that. So CMC is happy working for less and harder than most because of those things. A new AD can easily change that.

Prohm was going to be relieved of his duties last year, but Covid changed everything. Everything will be announced soon but I can assure you that Prohm will not be the coach at ISU next season.
Whoa; sounds like you have it on good sources. I can only imagine who the candidates JP would have lined up for interviews - and if they are still available ??

That contradicts everyone on here saying we can’t get “good” coaches because of Jamie’s ego and he has to be able to control them.

I do agree that the AD-coach relationship is critical - in any sport. But I'm sure Matt Campbell would say a great basketball program is good for football.
Im sure he loves having recruits at a rocking hilton. I bet the turnout for a coach who has two straight 20 loss seasons wont be that impressive. Although maybe he could spin it as "even when the basketball team is complete ******* we still have more fans than ____ school.", But i dont know, that seems pretty lame.

Trusting people on a free website is something I try not to do. It's hard though. And there are some really informed and funny people on here. But I would say that most are full of ****. If I I didn't know me, I wouldn't trust me either.
