Had noro a few years ago and aside from fluids leaving my body at tremendous rates for about 24 hours the thing I remember the most was I had a bottle of water next my bed and at room temperature it felt ice cold.

It was like I was tripping.
This is why I insist on wiping down shopping carts even though people look at me like I am nuts. People stick their little germ carriers in those things. That stuff can just shut down a school

We had influenza A knock down all 6 of us... This was the first time everyone in our house got sick at once.. It was miserable

3-4 days of low appetite, chills, and a fever for the adults. Kids ran a fever for a week meaning no daycare for a week.. I nearly broke

There's something else floating around currently. Was early February. Flu and covid came back negative for me, wife tested negative for strep right after. I was in bed for 2 days when I hardly if ever get sick. Still have a bit of shortness of breath from it.

For sure. The efficacy is usually between 25-50% for the flu shot. I still get it in case it might work. Far from bullet proof. TMK, it has always been at these levels.
It varies a lot from year to year though doesn't it? They have to start making it ahead of time so there is some guessing as to which strains will be most common.

Real influenza is nasty, you feel awful for several days and take weeks to be better. The vaccine helps, but not 100%. A lot of people mistake other viruses as flu. Especially stomach issues. The real flu is brutal and can be fatal.

RSV most likely. Been a rough couple months for viruses

Correct. We are currently at risk for not having a flu shot for fall/winter flu season btw do to this selection process not happening

My first time being hospitalized was in college when I got the flu bad. Dorm dudes finally got me to the clinic with me insisting I'd be okay but I was running crazy high fever and not making much sense. Sickest I have even been in my life.

I had it once. Felt like a load of bricks got dumped on me. Went from fine pheasant hunting to chills and pain from head to toe in 20 minutes. Felt like sheet for a month. Never missed a shot since, haven’t had it in 20 years .

We all got sick in my house as well, influenza A for toddler was negative twice. Took 3 weeks. Feels like it’s back for me today with cough and terrible post nasal drip again with fever.

Ugh that’s how I feel right now. Trying to avoid coughing right now because it’s so painful to cough. I got diagnosed earlier today with the influenza A.

My youngest missed a week of school with influenza A that turned into walking pneumonia. He still sounds like he's smoked non filter camels for 30 years 2 weeks later. My BIL who's an MD said he thinks we're seeing a strain of Bird flu hitting people but they aren't checking for it except in the really old or young because they're not going to do anything different to treat for it so why test for it.

I think they guess it based on what mainly went around the southern hemisphere first.

I basically never see it messaged that way.

I heard a stable genius once say, "Why would I get flu shot if I don't have the flu?".
