We were down south in late Jan. when I got hit by the 24 hour flu bug. It started right about the start of the Bills-Chiefs game and lasted till about 4am. When we checked out of the hotel I was worried that the cleaning staff might call the police because the bathroom looked like a crime scene.
Probably had the norovirus. We got nailed with it at Xmas. In my Moms small house. With a two year old and an infant. Not fun!

I think my whole house was sick all of January and into February. It just rotated to everyone a couple of times.

Not sure what it was, cold or flu, but I was down for about 24 hours while on a snowboarding trip in Colorado. Was pretty congested for about a week, with an annoying dry cough lingering 2-3 weeks.

Yeah this was probably noro, right time when it was going around like crazy. Was up north the month prior.

Influenza season is hitting hard this year and really jamming up the system right now.

Please only come to the emergency dept if you have the following if you are an adult

-A fever over 101 for more then 24 hours after taking over the counter medication.

-an inability to keep food or water down that’s resulting in severe dehydration

-trouble breathing

-chest pains

-muscle pains that it is truly effecting your ability to move around, I’m talking debilitating pain not just ow this hurts.

-altered mental states along with dizziness or fainting

Otherwise please go to urgent care, set an appointment with your PCP, or take over the counter meds.

Do not go to work, and if you have to be in public wash your hands and wear a mask.

Not exactly sure.
I’ve gotten the flu twice after getting the vaccine. Got unlucky on the strains I guess. First time was after the mist vaccine so I always got the shot after that.
I’ve had the flu shot 2x. Also had bronchitis 2x. The second happened one week after the first both times. F that flu shot for me.

It's been a wild year for kids, schools, coworkers. I feel like the first of it was right after new years and really, really bad a few weeks ago.

Woke up Saturday morning and felt like I got ran over. They gave tamiflu. I can’t ever remember getting the flu and feeeling this bad. My lungs are in n fire
Forcing myself to sweat it out in these instances always helps.

Hope you get back on track.

Not sure if I've had the flu but about every week over the last 6ish weeks it feels like I've got something new but overall pretty mild.

Few weeks ago was just graugey/head ache, the next week was nasal congestion, then graugey again off and on for a weekish, then the last week or two I've had stuffy head and some slight chest congestion.

Vaccinated for flu. RSV. Covid booster. All done in October. Have had no illness. None.
Yep I also got a pneumonia shot.

My current issue is trying to figure out if I have had measles or the vaccine. Can’t find records and I think the odds that ISU kept my records for 46 years are slim.

Holy crap this stuff is brutal. Normally the flu goes away pretty fast for me. This time I can’t shake it. Just miserable
We both got the flu shot. I got the lite version for 3-4 days and my wife had it for 12 days. Still coughing.

Norovirus is all the rage here. Neighbor keeps asking me to watch her kids while she takes another one to the doctor. I make them play outside the whole time she’s gone. Not sure how they keep getting it as they are home schooled, but they spend a lot of time with other home schooled kids.

Had noro a few years ago and aside from fluids leaving my body at tremendous rates for about 24 hours the thing I remember the most was I had a bottle of water next my bed and at room temperature it felt ice cold.

It was like I was tripping.

Nope. Got my flu shot mid November.
Same. I tested positive and was sick for a day. But easy I think because I got the vaccine. Not sure if that word should starred out?

I get the flu shot yearly, have had the flu only twice in the last 20 years. This last time was spring 2020 and it wasn't bad at all. Had confirmed covid once, wasn't bad. Get yearly covid vax now. I'm genetically resistant to some strains of the norovirus so I don't believe I've ever had that. I haven't thrown up in around 20 years.

I do get occasional bad coughs and do have some mild allergies. I had cytomegalovirus once as an adult... that sucked. Low grade fever off and on for over a month.

My family and I recently went on a cruise. 3 out of the 4 of us came home with an upper respiratory illness, but have since recovered.

That’s the problem getting the flu shot. Might get the flu anyway.
For sure. The efficacy is usually between 25-50% for the flu shot. I still get it in case it might work. Far from bullet proof. TMK, it has always been at these levels.
