I've heard a little of Eric Church and liked what I heard. I also think Eli Young Band will make it too. I wish I could go to that Aldean concert, he's quickly becoming one of my favorite artists.

Chris have you heard Jake Owen's stuff? I have his latest cd and absolutely love it. Can easily listen to it all the way through. He's the guy that sings 8 second ride in case that helps.

Yes...love Jake Owen. He's really, really good.

Eric Church is great, and like someone else stated, he doesn't come across as someone that's in it just to make a buck. It's tough to beat "Sinners Like Me" or "Hell on the Heart", and "Love Your Love the Most" is as good a ballad as you'll ever hear. He also wrote "The World Needs a Drink" for Terri Clark. Big fan.

"Guys Like Me" is by far my favorite Church song. I really like "Hell on the Heart" from his new album. That entire "Carolina" album is just phenomenal. One of my favorites in a LOOONG time.

I agree with this.
Where is he playing in Des Moines?
I really like Lady A as well. I need to go get their new CD; came out Tuesday. Gloriana has some good ones.
I had a blast at the Brad Paisley concert; he has an awesome set. He could have played 4 or 5 hours and all the songs would have been good ones.

What are your favorite country radio stations? I really like KIX 101.1 out of Marshalltown, but have a hard time picking it up in WDM and at work on the Southside. I listen to 97.3 the Hawk a lot, but they play too many of the same songs. One day I counted 7 times I heard one song (can't remember which one) from the time I drove to work until I got home from work.

If you like Zach Brown Band, have 2 minutes and 30 seconds to spare, and aren't at your desk at work, check this out. Funniest song I've ever heard.

I generally listen to 97.3, then 92.5, then 101.1.

I'd like to go to the Future Faces tonight, but have plans. Still planning to go see Tim McGraw/Lady A/Lost Trailers. Will definately be going to see Eric Church. Then in May is Taylor/Kellie/Gloriana.

Everyone just needs to listen to All_4_State. He's right on. The real country artist out there are not on country radio. Drive-by-Truckers, Steve Earle, Wayne Hancock, Hank III, etc.

My taste for country goes about as far as George Strait and Brad Paisley. Love both those guys, the rest...eh.

for you country fans out there, check out Neil Hewitt on itunes, he is currently a signed artist and produced his last cd in Nashville. Also has a single out called "The Request". More reason to love him, he loves the cyclones and is currently an ISU student.

I used to listen all the time but the new stuff, I really dont care for. Jason Aldean and stuff like that I like. The I'm blonde and kinda sing stuff I dont like as well as the pop country. It seems there is more and more redneck songs than real country music as well. There is a lot of good new country that never makes the radio. But that is just me. When I do listen it usually is 96.5.

I don't know how anyone can claim they like most of the artists listed in this thread. watered down country music at best. You have to go back and listen to the pioneers or turn off the radio (at least around here) to hear the good stuff.

As a few others have mentioned, if you are listening to Nashville country on corporate radio you are missing the boat. I listen to Americana, Texas Country and Red Dirt. Artists such as Robert Earl Keen, Reckless Kelly, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Stoney LaRue, Randy Rogers Band and, of course, The Drive By Truckers. There are many others that actually write their own songs and have the balls to record the songs the way they intended them to be recorded.

It is unfortunate that with the XM-Sirius merger we lost a great station in what was XM 12 Cross Country. It is now Outlaw Country and it is acceptable but it doesn't hold a candle to what Jessie Scott was doing before.

Best Eric Church song in my opinion.... Song has me begged down to a T....

Jason Aldean isn't bad. Neither is Dirks Bently.

Still gotta go with Garth Brooks, George Strait, AJ, Chris LeDoux, Alabama..... Country music 10 years ago was much better then today. Too many "pretty boy" "frat boy" country wanna be singers.
