Unless you have some inside information...YOU are speculating just as much as he is.

If there is one organization and timing with said org we should be concerned or at least slightly mindful of....its the Minnesota gig and its opening right now.

No i dont think he takes it.....but its not outrageous to think he might listen. Pretty sure he even has a favorable clause in his contract about this correct?

I'd say "we", as individuals who believe he's at ISU for the long haul, do in fact have more "inside" information on him than those on the other side who might be saying he's interested/listening. Although all of this is common knowledge, him having gone to ISU, having family in the area, having kids going to a school that they like, etc. is a lot more solid info than that on the other side of the argument.

If Thibodeau leaves Chicago, don't be surprised for the Bulls to make a push for Fred. Fred and Gar Forman are very good friends.

Not saying Fred leaves, just something to watch for.

This is the NBA job I want for Fred.

In like 10-15 years.

Here we go:

Jeff Borzello@jeffborzello 12 mins Fred Hoiberg and Tom Izzo among names floated by @SpearsNBAYahoo for the Minnesota Timberwolves job.

Jeff Goodman@GoodmanESPN 5 mins Timberwolves coaching job is officially now open. Two names that will be in the mix, per sources, are Tom Izzo and Fred Hoiberg.

Gary Parrish@GaryParrishCBS 4 mins Flip Saunders is tight with Tom Izzo and Fred Hoiberg. I’d bet one of them is at the very least offered the Timberwolves job.

Timberwolves also have interest in Stan Van Gundy.
Just don't think Izzo of Hoiberg would want to take a chance with the Minny job at this point considering their roster going forward and the projected loss of Love within the year.

I could maybe see Izzo taking up that challenge. He's already won his championships at the college level. Still seems like a stretch though.

Not going. Not this time. Would have been worried if not for the pay raise. Don't get me wrong, I don't think the money matters. But Fred knew this job was going to come open. He is too savvy with his image to agree to a pay raise only to bolt a few weeks later. He knows what leaving like this would do to how he is viewed in Ames.

My guess is that someday he will be coaching on an NBA sideline for a midwest team (Wolves, Bulls, Pacers are obvious but I would also throw in the Thunder). But it won't be for a few years now.

If the Thunder go out early in the playoffs I could see Brooks being fired. There is a college coach that would be extremely high on their list but it's not Hoiberg.
