I don't know why we/others don't deliberately foul that Keita guy more. If you're going to play a guy who shoots 38% on free throws for 20 minutes per game, I'm making sure you're paying for that.
Definitely worth some Watson fouls

Obviously we were limited yesterday with personnel but I think even when healthy we all agree ball movement and 3 point shooting can really hurt our defensive philosophy. BYU not getting the looks today.
What if ISU gets them on a back to back?
They have gotten looks today.

Jump shooting teams are going to struggle sometimes on back to backs. Tag on Houston D and they wear down even quicker

I mean CU gave Houston a better game

But ISU could have won at home and gotten BYU on a back to back. So only themselves to blame.

LOL classic ESPN sensationalism. Comparing their first halves from today and ISU, and the chyron is "BYU's fall from grace"
ESPN really be like:

After their Icarian performance versus Iowa State, BYU has flown to close to the sun with their Mormon wings made of bird feathers & wax tonight versus Houston. Alas, reports they have fallen from grace are now confirmed.

Okay Duke is a lot more than Cooper Flagg. Carolina not great but they are getting dismantled.

And also playing a team that depends a lot of the 3 ball on a back to back
Leg fatigue is real. ISU had it in the 2nd half
I think byes in tourneys are b.s. As the higher-seeded team you're already getting an advantage of playing a lower-seeded team. Now add fatigue of back-to-backs on top of that and the deck is super-stacked against teams that finished well in the top half of their league.

In the WCC's brokedick tourney the top 2 teams get byes until the semifinals. Ridic.

Well when you have mega conferences playing in 1 venue you cannot play 8 games in 1 day

Now they should do like old Big 8 days. Top 8 get to play first round at home

Then move to KC

Houston's defense is THAT much better than ours? Color me skeptical.
They don't have/choose to trap so they don't give up wide open looks on ball reversal and can stay in front of drivers without help. They also have elite rim protectors if somebody gets through.

So, yes. It's not slamming us to say they're quite a bit better, especially when we haven't been close to 100% for over a month.

Houston's defense is impressive, they refuse to allow BYU to do anything. Unlike ISU they are really not doubling, which allows them to get to stay on their man. They also do not give up the baseline, which ISU does repeatedly. BYU killed us yesterday getting to the baseline and then throwing it out of an open three. Houston has taken that away. Outside of a few jams, BYU can do nothing.

Houston's defense is ELITE. They are #1 in defensive efficiency. I think ISU was #12, but looks like we dropped to #18 after yesterday's performance.

(Iowa is #314 out of 364 teams fwiw. Drake is #28, BYU #84)

I do believe HOU is better on D than ISU, but agree it's not a big gap. This game tells me more about BYU.

BYU's players are a bunch of assh*les.

Houston is pretty inoffensive as far as teams-that-kick-your-ass go. Good team, well coached, plays hard, no overtly obnoxious players.
