I thought Evan staying down at 133 was a huge problem for him...hence his slow starts and "alleged" drop off, coupled with injuries

I don’t disagree at all but maybe Evan wants to go 33 to ensure his brother is in the lineup as well?
Quite possible, not sure what the answer is but another year of him cutting too much weight to not place at nationals does not sound like the ticket. Not a knock on the guy, from what has been said he was cutting way too much weight to be effective. Can't imagine that improves for next year.

Man I don't like Evan going back to 133. I do realize we have a lot of other options but I have not gotten the impression that they should be starting yet. Hope I'm wrong or we pick someone up I guess.

I don’t like it either but just one more year. Plus I would guess he sees what this team could be and he is a team player

No guarantee he wins the 141 wrestle off.

Like Stu said, Rocky seems very well spoken and genuine. I like when asked why ISU one of his first reasons was primarily Yonger, then mentioned Coleman and Carr. Good to hear kids still consider this a top priority instead of just money, which is obviously important. It's been disheartening to have the guys we do in the room and have no recruits to show for it. He also mentioned ISU was on board with his limited schedule to keep him fresh for March. Sounds like there is a good plan for him in place with injuries being his biggest red flag. He also mentioned Perry will officially be joining the staff within the next month.

I think Evan being sick at Big 12’s hurt his ease of placing at NCAA. He is disciplined enough to make the cut & think he could easily place at 133 again
I don’t have insight, but appeared to me he got too big in the offseason. It is a tough task, but he’ll need to stay disciplined over the summer. He seems like the kind of kid that can do it.

Being sick with a tweaked hamstring is a tough way to wrestle for a guy pulling a bunch of weight.

I’m right there with you, Evan can place high at 33.

Rocky Elam was someone I immediately wanted to come to ISU the moment I heard in Philly he was entering the portal. I am really excited to have him at Iowa State and have the opportunity to cover him as a Cyclone. I've always really liked the Elam brothers and have enjoyed cheering for them from afar.

I normally am not a big fan of load management, but I actually really like it in this situation. We get a one year guy who has high AA potential and the ability for other guys to continue their development. Best of both worlds.

Well I’m glad I got enough raised to keep Jefferson around. The wrestling portal has been pretty dry this year so visit my OnlyFans page and maybe we get the team a quality guy at 184 and 197!
Posted this in the JJ thread two days ago. Thanks to all who visited my feet vids.

And you’re welcome.

Not exactly sure.
Not sure where to put this but yesterday in the House vs NCAA settlement hearing the judge wanted certain items "fixed" before final approval one being the roster limits . She said she would prefer them to be phased in so current athletes don't immediately lose their spots , having already rostered athletes be grandfathered in . Will have another hearing in a week
I see both sides. If you let those wrestlers hang out and not lose their spots, it may keep freshmen from getting one.

Alright can we go 3 straight days with a portal commit?!?! The skids are just getting greased let’s keep this thing going! My 3 young wrestling boys all want to be like Rocky now whose in charge of making NIL shirts let’s welcome him with one when he gets to Ames.

All joking aside, listening to his interview this appears to be a win on so many sides, great resume as a 4X AA hopefully another “atleast”, awesome practice partners, CRTC aspirations post college. Def has the chance to be so much more beneficial than a pay to play one and done guy. Praying he can stay healthy and the staff can maximize his talent
