The fact that guys like him and Downey aren’t recruited to be program changers. Parker did that.

Chittum and Swiderski are supposed to be that. The guys that develop and get on the podium once or twice, possibly 3 times if you’re lucky just elevate the team.

ISU has/had a handful of guys who can single handily carry the program like Carr, Bastida, Swiderski, Chittum. The guys like MJ, Frost boys, Riggins, Tate are guys who should be finding the podium once or twice with good coaching and practice partners. Those guys can get 10 points at nationals on a good weekend. The program shifters that carry the load can get 20+ and wrestle on Saturday night

We mostly agree here. We don’t agree that no one really recruited Happel. That was wild.

From my perspective, Chittum was no where near being a program carrier. Not even close. In fact he doesn't even belong in the same sentence as Carr and Bastida. And Swiderski, points wise, on the brink. Seemed like a solid ra-ra guy, but also allegedly had his off the mat issues. Their importance to the program may be over valued.

Speaking of wild…the #1 recruit in the country wasn’t to be a program carrier? Whaaaat?

Ole Pat has been exposed once again. Petersen isn’t having it and kept the receipts. Can you imagine thinking you can somehow get away with screwing with and lying about a college kid in the digital world? What a miserable existence.

The kid has been in college 3 years. Wrestled two. No where near the podium. After a year in college, high school rankings don't mean jack sh!t. He's not a program carrier as you somehow are implying based off of what he did in high school. We're not getting trophies based off of his high school performance.

There is also another gioffre at Virginia. All 3 are from Buchanan high school in California. The 2 at Virginia are definitely brothers. Could be a brother could be a cousin

He will end up at Mizzou.

If Mizzou can retain Elam they will be much improved from this year.
And bc it's how PJ wrestles, PJ will major or tech fall him next year in the dual and then beat him by an OT td with :10 left in the quarters of the Big 12 tourney

Im not interested in either of them. If that’s the best, save the money. Let Bartlet and whomever get experience.

If we aren’t pulling darn near sure fire AAs/point scorers out of the portal just roll with what ya got.
Soldano an option at 84? Do these guys make us better at 84 and 97 I’d have to say yes, 84s are all grads so it buys Bartelt some time on injury recovery…Cotton is A SO and who knows maybe a change of scenery would be good for him and we have him for a few years. How much would they cost? I’d argue pretty cheap

I actually wouldn’t mind Dean. He was the 7 seed this year and has some good wins. Let the staff mold him and have him work with Marcus this summer and he could be really solid. It also gives Bartelt another year to train and get ready as I’m not sure he’ll be ready to go at the start of next year as he recovers from the ACL tear

Thank you exact same sentiment…

The reality at 97 is horrible, does Cotton move the needle on a National level, again prolly not but does it make our team at 97 better? If so and it doesn’t take much we have to get better where we can/when we can.

Little form LR staying for them at 97?
