Chittum and Casey were 2 of the biggest recruits p4p top 3 each. in 4 attempts, 2 each we got 14.5 total. Happel got 12 points this year by himself and you aren't impressed with the Iowa kid nobody really recruited?

Nobody recruited a multiple time Fargo AA who was either the #22 or #33 ranked guy in the country depending on what service you’re looking at?

Ummm…what?

NCAA eligibility rules should be 5 years to compete in 4 Post seasons, no medical, Olympic or regular redshirts. With the new roster limits, this gives flexibility in the ability to use incoming freshman.
Either that or at least fine tune who is eligible for an Olympic Redshirt. Isn't Cadet world medalist able to take Olympic redshirts? I am not sure Junior world medalist should automatically be able to take an Olympic redshirt. Many take the redshirt, but never even compete in an event to try and qualify for the Olympics

Olympic redshirt is only available during Olympic years to athletes who meet one (or more) of these criteria:

1.) Past National Team members (Top 3 from the World or Olympic Team Trials)

2.) Top 8 at the 2019 Senior U.S. Open

3.) Top 3 at the 2019 NCAA wrestling championship or NCAA champion from a previous year and top 2 from the 2019 U23 World Team Trials (must accomplish both)

4.) Previous Cadet, Junior, U23 World Medalist

Just let them compete in all 5 post seasons. It hurts nothing. No need for that complexity.

These are wayyyy too lenient. Cadet world medalists can take an Olympic year…laughable.

The very fact so few college guys actually make the Olympic team shows you it should be much more difficult to get one…or better yet not have Olympic or any other kind of redshirts at all.

I don’t have any problem with any of these ideas. Even after Covid free year, we are going to have multiple 6 year wrestlers with medical redshirt a dime a dozen. Then Olympic redshirts are right around the corner & PSU is going to have an extra redshirt available for practically their whole team

With Figs leaving ASU, is ASU on the ropes and Larkins are ripe for the picking?!?!

Don’t pretend to follow HS wrestling recruiting but saw a graphic at Nationals that Iowa as a state “per capita” was either 1 or 2 iirc. IMO as well for the kids that just do one sport regardless seem to peak early and further growth can be somewhat limited…with NIL this is somewhat being expected that they can compete right away for a starting spot hence the one sport mantra…not to mention psychological burnout or distaste for the sport, I personally feel Chittum falls in this camp

But pat has been right consistently this portal season. So just lucky guesses?
He definitely gets fed information but I think he's making reference to poaching and all the details like money and housing. Pat hates iowa more than he hates russia he's always trying to make them look bad

I would guess we might see some guys starting to transfer out if this recruiting over continues! Who does Taylor think he is, Cael????
I think there could be some late guys getting in if someone new comes in and is going to take their place. What do you think Casey might do? I don't see him starting next year can he go back in the portal to head to another location? There is going to be a bunch of jumping around to see where you can fit in.
