I don’t think they had enough to overturn. But calling it a TD seemed a little flimsy.

Either way they weren’t going to rule against Miami at home.

The optics of this is baaaaaaaaad. The narrative is going to be that the ACC fixed this.
Yeah but it will be forgotten by tomorrow right unfortunately. People and media move on quick.

It was two coin flip decisions.

Time and time again, sometimes evidence has to be indisputable to overturn and other times if can just be feelings.

To me this is a misapplication of review.

You can think the ball wasn’t secured; but there’s absolutely no clear and convincing video evidence to reverse the call. I think the call on the field was probably wrong, but if you use the stated video review procedure, overturning that call is not correct.

This reminds me of the early days of review, when officials would pull this all the time (we’re gonna reverse the call on the field because it feels wrong, not because there’s actual clear and convincing evidence against it).
