Am I the only one who's cringing a bit about a potential Colorado matchup. BYU and ISU fanbases will be compared to and treated like Caitlin Clark fans for simply wanting the team they for root to win. It's been really ugly for any Colorado opponent all year on social media. The demographics of our fan base will play right into their hands.
Huh?

Did that game not loom so large November 2? Particularly in the last two minutes or so?
Yes.
That’s the whole point.

In retrospect, that’s the game they know they Fd up.

If you’re trying to imply they didn’t care then but they care now, then you are clueless.

I think you are overthinking it man. It's plenty popular to hate on Colorado. I'm not even exactly sure what you mean.

Are you concerned for the full court press fawning of ESPN over Colorado to the point of rooting for them to win to get the storylines they want? Cause it’ll happen, but it’s not that hard to ignore these days. Otherwise, I’ve never actually met a Colorado fan in real life. So I don’t know what else you mean. Is this a social media thing you’re worried about?

Oh, come on, if fans can’t complain about the players letting a game they should have won slip through their fingers, what’s the good of being a fan?

(I know they care, I know they didn’t lose on purpose, it’s still painful for all of us, yet in the scheme of life on this planet, it’s really not very high on the list of important things)

Oh I get it.

That’s on players and Coaches. Some very poor tackling, poor defensive ball skills, head scratching clock management and play calling (Offense and Defense).

For being really not very high on the list of important things, I appreciate your valuable time to respond.

So who do we root for this week?

ISU
OSU
KU

Does BYU vs ASU matter? What about any other of the games?
I believe if KU beats Colorado and BYU beats ASU, we still aren't in. We need both to lose or Colorado to lose twice (which won't happen), If ASU beats BYU and KU beats Colorado. We would play ASU in title game (assuming we win out and ASU beats Arizona).

If BYU and Kansas win, we need Tech to lose once from my understanding

I'll try to post this on every page lol

In order of importance, cheer for: Iowa State, Kansas, Arizona State, Oklahoma State

If Iowa State, Kansas and Arizona State win, an ISU win over KSU and BYU win over Houston next week gets us in. We'll worry about that next week.

To try an simplify for people. If we win both games, here are the most probable scenarios that get us in based on the results of the BYU/ASU and CO/KS games this week.

BYU + CO win: we need Houston to beat BYU in the last week
ASU + CO win: we need Arizona to beat ASU in the last week; or OSU to beat Colorado
BYU + KS win: Texas Tech to lose one game + Kstate to beat Cinncinati; or Houston to beat BYU
ASU + KS win: we control our own destiny in almost all scenarios

Won't update my model until tomorrow sometime, but I went through mred's generator throughly, and I'm pretty confident this is the only scenario where ISU wins and doesn't get to the title game:
  • Colorado over OSU; and
  • ASU over Arizona; and
  • Houston over BYU; and
  • Texas Tech over West Virginia; and
  • either TCU over Cincinnati or Kansas over Baylor
This forces a three-way tie with ISU/Colorado/ASU, where ISU finishes third if Cincinnati is behind Kansas in the final standings.

I may be wrong but I saw on Twitter that the conference straight up announced tonight a confirmation that if both ASU and ISU win out they would both be in.

At least from what I saw, the conference announced that in a four-way tie, ASU and ISU would be the two that were in. But in this particular three-way tie, that doesn't seem to be the case.
