Serious question for those who seem to have program insider status ...are we in on anyone in the portal that will significantly help us and do we have a realistic shot at landing them?

Depends on what the market does and if we still keep getting outbid I would guess. I’m guessing we will get a guy or two but it won’t be who we all hoped it would be. Hope I’m wrong. I don’t think it’s any fault of the staff that they don’t have a million bucks or whatever to spend annually on transfers. The rich get richer and it ain’t slowing down.

The staffs best bet might be to look at some of the younger guys in the transfer portal that were relatively highly ranked but didn’t pan out at their first school and try and develop them. Thinking like Rogatzke or some of the other freshmen/sophomore’s in the portal. Doesn’t tie up a lot of money, and the staff is pretty good at developing kids

Don’t think we will get anyone of Truax or Messenbrink level.

We may get a fringe qualifier type (think Kraisser or Schuyler when they committed) that develop over a few years.

I just don’t think the plug and play (pay) AA is this staffs MO. Gotta be good room guys (not that the high level guys arent).

The portal has gotten a lot of attention because of the big 5 or 6 names. But looking through it there aren’t hardly any guys in there that could start or help us in any way. Mastro, Spratley, Garrett Grice, Boone, Nevills, and the one I’ve wanted since the jump Rogotzke. Olejnik doesn’t fit with us but he’s tough

Grice would be intriguing. Top 100 kid from 2022 that would have 4 years left and provide depth at 133. Ramazan can't seem to stay healthy and I'm not sure if Redding will go back down to 133 or be 141 next year.
