Can one of you agronomy/ turf grass management grads explain why the greens at Augusta look so bad? Lots of green and brown blotches.

I’m a big fan of Justin Rose. Hoping he wins it. He’s a great guy from all accounts.

I believe they dried them out in preparation for the rain that's coming. Not sure if it was to depress scores today or to keep this weekend from getting out of hand. The boys shredded the place six months ago.

I have **** eyesight and might be a little drunk but I don't even see him touch the sand
It's not much but look at the speck of sand that is sticking up a bit behind the ball. On his take away when he goes to hit the actual shot he flattens the sand that was sticking up down some. I think it is ridiculous but that's the rule.

I didn’t think they were going to allow people to call in stuff like this anymore?

Even if you had a rules official follow each and every golfer and watch every single thing they do like a Hawk, they would not have caught this.

This probably happens a lot, but you only get penalized if it happens to get caught on video and some tool calls it in. Dumb.

I read they changed the rule on this so it has to be visible to the naked eye. I can't imagine the intent of that was "visible to the naked eye while zoomed in X10000 and in super slow motion."

What a dumb rule. If I were Ancer I'd be going through the footage of every bunk shot taken and submitting them all for review. Because I'm sure something this minimal happens at least a dozen times per round.

I know the rule changed for amateurs/USGA, not sure about how that works in the big leagues.

The dried them out for firm and fast play in anticipation of some rain. When the greens at Augusta play super soft these guys can absolutely tear the course up and make it look way too easy.

The projected cut has already slid a stroke to +3. There will be some high numbers hung this afternoon, so I would think that +4 will end up being the cut line.

Good bounce back by Rose to get it back to even for the day.
