The fact that we haven't won a conference title in football for nearly forever (which everyone on here already knows) does not in any way make a move of ISU to the MAC a good thing. Mediocrity is mediocrity, and who wants to settle for that?

MAC is not even an option. We will land in a conference that is BCS or has BCS aspirations. ISU brings a lot more to the table than you give them credit for.

This is a numbers game. So, In my eyes, this means that ISU is that much closer to realizing our goal of winning a conference championship.

I understand your sentiment--in some respects, we could to be a big fish in a small pond. Our fan base and $ blows away any MAC team. We could be like Cincy/Boise State etc. But, for sure, this kills our non revenue generating sports. We beat Nebraska last year in football! We won a bowl game! We can compete in a major conference.
