Per the ISU athletics facebook page.

Man, I thought we might stay steady or even go down a bit in attendance this year since Iowa is away and we don't have the benefit of UNI coming this year, but with the record amount of season tickets sold already, both student and regular, it seems like it could be another record breaking year. (provided we field a competitive team, of course)

Did we sell out student tickets last year?

I just saw this on twitter! This is awesome! Great job Iowa State students! The student section for football and basketball should be pretty fun this year.

Edit: And no we didn't, and I don't think we were close either.

Just shows how much excitement there is around the program. This year's senior class were freshmen during Rhoads' first season. Let's keep the momentum going!

Wow, that's great news for ISU football! I posted a thread on here last Tuesday saying there were less than 700 student tickets left, so looks like quite a few students purchased tickets between now and then (about 100 per day on average). I would think those remaining tickets will be gone in less than 24 hours since the AD posted it on Facebook.

Can't wait for the student section to be rocking every game this season.

I'd love to get a total number on current season tickets sold

It's got to be an all time high. I don't even think ISU has ever sold out of football and basketball student season tickets in the same year. I am honestly stoked about this!

Pretty sure it happened in 2007:

I think there's only been a few years in the last decade where we didn't sell out both, a few times it took a game or 2 into the season though. Basketball always sells out, just 50% of the people actually went.

Do we still allot 7,800 tickets to the student section or has that changed?

I was wondering that myself. 2007 would have been my Junior year when they added another 800 to make the student section 7,800. I don't remember seeing anything about the section getting bigger since then, though the student section does seems to take up much more of the East side than I remember it taking up my Senior year, but that may simply be the empty stands caused by Gene's debut season being so solid.

Just sold out student tickets. So if we are allotted 7,800 student tickets, how many season tickets have we already sold?

How many regular season tickets did ISU confirm a long time ago? That would obviously be a lot less than we have sold at this point.

Did we sell out of student football tickets last year? If not, when's the last time we did?

EDIT: This quote from CPR gives some insight:

"This is the earliest we have sold out of student season-tickets in recent memory," Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads said.

So I take it we have sold out before, just not this early.

I don't think we did. And I would guess as the previous post said it was Chiziks first year, and then it has taken 5 years to recover from the giant dump he took on our program.

It has more to do with enrollment skyrocketing than anything else.

Id guess there's plenty of demand as well. From other reports general season ticket sales are also doing quite well.
