I think it really depends on which A&M team shows up this week, if it's the one that went crazy on Texas Tech, then Iowa State could be in for a bad loss.

My first instinct is to say no. Most likely we will not have AA or ARob 100% for the whole game, so any production we get from them will be gravy. I'm not sure Tiller and Schwartz have the firepower we need to hang with A&M's offense, which is very good. This will be more like the Kansas game than the Nebraska game.

Why all of this A&M love?!?

Their only good win is over a Tech team that plays no, and I mean zero defense and that also essentially quit on their coach during the game. You guys need to remember that this is the same team that got blasted at KSU two weeks ago and did NOTHING on offense. And for those who think that we just can't win because the game is in CS...there are two guys named Meyer and Blythe that would like to have a word with you...

My guess: AA and AR both play and both play well, the ISU offense moves the ball up and down the field against a terrible A&M defense, and the defense plays very well. ISU wins by 14 or more.

We have lost close games to teams that have an offensive pulse. I have no idea what to expect out of this game. Since it is on the road I have to think that A&M wins this one after seeing what they did to Tech. I don't think Arnaud and A-Rob will be 100%. If they are, then we have a legit shot at winning. I don't think they will be 100% though.

Aggies win.

KSU and Kansas have horrible defenses as well, and we lost both of those games...

We might be in for a shoot out like the Kansas game was.

It comes down to whether or not we have AA and ARob. I doubt our d will hold A&M's offense to 7 points like the did Nebraska. Also, maybe this team figured out how to finish a game last week... Something they didn't know "how" to do vs KSU and Kansas....

Because if you look at their per-game statistics, the K-State game is the outlier, not the Texas Tech game. They're not as good as they looked against Tech, but they're a whole lot better than they looked against K-State.

I'm not saying we don't have a chance. Just that I think it's more likely that TAMU wins. If Arnaud and A-rob can go most of the game, I'd be willing to call it a toss-up, but I'd be surprised if they do.

I think we win on Saturday. I know everyone's pointing to KSU and KU and saying that we haven't proven yet we can win shootouts. To that, I will say, up until Saturday, had we ever proven that we can win a battle of wills either? I think that the win against NU is going to have a positive impact on this team for the rest of the season. In years past this team was told they couldn't win games like these. Now they know they can. I think you saw the beginnings of swagger developing on Saturday. I think that's going to carry over.

the ksu game was an anomaly for A&M. it was our first true road game and we got destroyed. it was very embarrassing haha...

ive posted this on another thread, but our Ds stats are kind of skewed due to the offenses we have faced. below are the top4 offenses each has faced.

we are #98 total D - have faced #4, 25, 30 & 31 offenses
isu is #83 - have faced #5, 58, 74 (ksu), & 75 offenses

is our D great? of course not, but its not as "terrible" as the numbers make it seem.

we will be the highest ranked total O & scoring O you have faced.

but of course, you dont play the game on paper. and you never know how our youth will play the game (played 18 true fish last weekend @ tech).

btw, i think you should rest AA & A-Rob - get them ready for the next game :)

If the Iowa State defense that played in Lincoln shows up in College Station the Clones can win the football game.

I think theirs a real good chance that both Arnaud and Robinson play against A & M come saturday afternoon.

I must just be too optimistic, I don't see this game as a problem. Our D steps up and plays great, we have AA for the game and A-Rob plays some, with Swartz giving him a rest as needed. Good game, but ISU wins by 14.

Iowa State will win this football game. Mark it down. I know people are trying not to get their hopes up but I am confident in this staff and these players that they are going to be ready to go come Saturday. While the Aggies might have impressive numbers keep in mind who they have put those numbers up against.... horrible non conference competition. These guys aren't playing the same ISU team that they played in Ames last season either.
