I hate to break it to you, President Scroob, but Lone Starr is deceased. As are Barf, Kane, and Dot Matrix.

I can see a world where this becomes a hilarious parody of the ridiculous number of cookie cutter marvel and Star Wars movies.

I can also see a world where it’s terrible and doesn’t have the same Mel Brooks charm because it’s 30 years too late.

NGL, I didn't know Brooks was still alive.
I knew Reiner was gone

I love Mel Brooks movies, but this just does not need to be remade. I know Hollywood is out of ideas, but I'm thinking this will not turn out well.

To be fair Spaceballs was a little late to the party itself in coming out after the initial Star Wars craze had faded.

The last few Mel Brooks movies...yikes. But I would give this a chance like I will give the new Naked Gun a chance.

Spoilers, guys. It has only been 38 years.

On that note, I should probably break down and watch the original. Never had much interest even though I love Mel Brooks.

I'm not gonna get excited for this, just like I don't get excited for Star Wars anymore, even though I watch them and some have been great.

This feels like its got a 50/50 chance of being good. If it can skewer the idea that there are no new movies any more and the rehashing of "remakes" and "reboots" it could be good. Certainly the material is there. Just dunno if Brooks humor will still hit the same.

It's not a remake, it's the sequel WE WERE PROMISED!!!!!

We never got any of that promised merch either. We'll finally get Spaceballs the Flamethrower.
