A scoring, athletic (I.e. can move, rebound and defend) 4.What else should clones look for in the portal? Realistically what/who could we get?
YES !!!!!A scoring, athletic (I.e. can move, rebound and defend) 4.
Not exactly a 4, but Hailey Weaver of Northwestern might come close to this. She was briefly mentioned in the NIL thread about a week and a half ago. ISU has inquired about her -- she is a G (around 6'0") who is a versatile player both offensively and defensively. She wouldn't be a superstar but could be a valuable rotation player.A scoring, athletic (I.e. can move, rebound and defend) 4.

Not sure she helps much based on what she did on a bad big 10 teamNot exactly a 4, but Hailey Weaver of Northwestern might come close to this. Here's a pretty honest review of her strengths and weaknesses from the 23-24 season: https://www.insidenu.com/2024/3/28/...sketball-2023-24-player-reviews-hailey-weaver
She opted to sit out the 24-25 season to focus on graduation, and now she has one season left as a grad transfer.
Gonna be tough to snag a double digit SEC player $$$ wiseAnother possibility could be Ashton Judd. She's a 6'1" guard who averaged 11.6 ppg and 5.0 rpg for Missouri. I don't know much about her defensive abilities. She is a career 38% 3pt shooter. She has one season left.
Can’t afford any of them.Bored and thought I would see who was left on this list that might need our needs.![]()
Women's college basketball transfer rankings: Fulwiley one of seven new players in top 25
South Carolina-bound Ta'Niya Latson tops the transfer rankings, but MiLaysia Fulwiley and Janiah Barker break into the top 10.www.espn.com
4. Gianna Kneepkens- very doubtful.
7. Janiah Barker- no clue
8. Serah Williams- this one would be fun.
25. Laura Ziegler- like this one too.
Just saw Williams is most likely LSU bound. Can’t afford any of them.
It would be interesting to see what the "cost" for any player actually is. Is there a range or tiers of $ that is consistent or do teams like TCU, LSU, etc. that have deep pockets just throw money at who they want? Can’t afford any of them.
SEC going to have deeper pockets.. and TCU is private. Mid-high tier players from what i have seen are getting six figuresIt would be interesting to see what the "cost" for any player actually is. Just googled Ashley Judd and...boy, she has not aged well....Another possibility could be Ashton Judd. She's a 6'1" guard who averaged 11.6 ppg and 5.0 rpg for Missouri. I don't know much about her defensive abilities. She is a career 38% 3pt shooter. She has one season left.
As long as Title IX is in play, you can’t not offer it, and I don’t believe we can drop any more sports and still maintain standing. These nice ladies are playing a sport that loses money every year and we can’t “afford” them? We can’t afford to keep offering their sport.
My fear is that they may consider cutting spending on WBB back severely as it on paper loses the most money. I think some of that is that split a lot of operational costs with MBB that would still be there even if there was no team.As long as Title IX is in play, you can’t not offer it, and I don’t believe we can drop any more sports and still maintain standing.

On the recruiting side, I think it will be interesting to see who invests considerable into WBB. I've heard that SCAR is struggling between choosing more pay towards WBB than typical, but they're in the SEC so they will be okay with the bazillion dollars they get.
UConn will be more interesting in the future. Do they care about football? How do they balance between MBB and WBB? How will they fare when Geno finally retires.
