So why do you think the reason is we are not getting "the athletes"?Our struggles can only be fixed through recruiting. We are not getting the athletes to compete at the highest level. I do not see anything changing.

I think part of it is that typically we start three sophomores this year. That means that upcoming Freshmen looking for major playing time look at Iowa State and think it might be yhe third year before they can start. We only have one senior. So everyone except Ryan can return for next year.So why do you think the reason is we are not getting "the athletes"?
Yep, nothing too exciting. Westmoreland was very overmatched against York. York didn't shoot particularly well, but they didn't need to. Beaty with 19 points -- threes weren't falling for her but the mid-range game was on fire. She left the game for good midway through the 3rd.Completely forgot about this game. NFHS does have it on demand so I'll watch a replay. York won 48-12, so probably not much to see.
I was thinking this was tonight instead of last night, and also I forgot until just now. I'll watch a replay, but York won 67-44 with Beaty scoring 34.Jackson County won the late game, so they'll be York's opponent on Wednesday. York beat Jackson Co. by 27 at home while Beaty was out, and by 29 on the road after Beaty's return.
At the end of Q1 it was 28-12 with 19 points for Beaty.I was thinking this was tonight instead of last night, and also I forgot until just now. I'll watch a replay, but York won 67-44 with Beaty scoring 34.
I haven't been able to watch this live because of other obligations, but I did a quick peek in at the game and York is up 52-21 in the third. I believe they said 29 points for Beaty. I plan to watch on demand tomorrow.York plays Pearl Cohn at home Saturday at 7pm for a chance to go to state.
York must play terrible teams.I haven't been able to watch this live because of other obligations, but I did a quick peek in at the game and York is up 52-21 in the third. I believe they said 29 points for Beaty. I plan to watch on demand tomorrow.
I’d guess it’s similar to Iowa. Look at some of the scores at the girls state tournament and the qualifying rounds and they mirror what you’re seeing in Tennessee.York must play terrible teams.
Pearl Cohn was 16-9 this season and played well enough to make the sectional round. But this is class 2A (second-smallest out of 4 classes), with private schools in an entirely separate division. So this would be similar to class 2A in Iowa with all private schools removed.York must play terrible teams.
York won tonight, looks like ISU staff was in attendance.Next game is the state quarterfinals. Game is Wednesday around 8:45 pm central (last game of four) at MTSU. York's opponent is Memphis Business Academy High School.

I keep forgetting about these games until after they are over. York won a tight one 44-43. Looks like MBA hounded Beaty as much as possible -- she didn't score until late in Q3.York won tonight, looks like ISU staff was in attendance.

You can see in this clip MBA trying to double her when she touches the ball.
